When planning our China trip we read many trip advisor reviews and noticed Janet Chan’s name came up a number of times so we asked for her to arrange our journey across this fascinating land. What a great choice we made, she listened and responded to our questions and arranged all our trip that went off without any problems. We didn’t want shopping nor group travel and she responded brilliantly. Two days hiking on the wall with fabulous guide Miko, in fact all our guides and drivers were just excellent. High speed train meant we saw lots of China’s varied countryside and went to some out of the way places. We can only say great things about TCT and especially Janet Chan if you are planning a trip. Thank you Janet for an exciting and memorable trip!

We were met at the airport by Christina Xiena from TCT at Xi'an train station. She was curtious and extremely knowledgeable. She started telling us the history of our scheduled itinerary in the car on the way to the hotel. That inspired and excited us for our upcoming visit to Xi'an. She was enthusiastic, energetic and protective. The hotel was great too. She took us to the Terracotta Army excavations, the Huashan Mountain, Thai Chi demonstration on the Wall of the City, calligraphy at the TangBo Museum, arranged our massages at her local salon (amazing!), Muslem area trip, pearl factory, lots of food and shopping. She was so willing to accommodate our every whim. She put me and my friend on the plane to Shanghai and helped us get our extra luggage on the plane using contacts from her travel company. In Shanghai we were met by Vicky. Another great guide. She knew how to get us around the city and most certainly spoke very good English. She took us to the Silk factory, Bottle opener building (Shanghai financial center) , Water city (unexpected add-on to the tour), Buddhist temple, plenty shopping and food. The hotel was great again. We recommend this travel company. You will never be disappointed. You can trust them from all angles.

Rebecca Wei of Top China Travel (TCT) did a fantastic job in arranging our six-city group tour to China. She flawlessly planned from beginning to end our entire tour itinerary, meet-and-greet at airport, hotel accommodations, meals, transportation, air conditioning coach with driver and guide at each city. Everything ran like clock work. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at each city and felt at ease because we knew that Rebecca had already made all the arrangements for us. The visit to the tea plantation and the tea processing was interesting and educational. The river cruise in Guilin was mesmerizing. Several members of our group said they will contact Rebecca again to arrange for their next vacation to China.

In April we had the pleasure of having Juli Liu as a tour guide for three days in Guilin China and the sourronding area. She speaks very good English. Is very friendly, knowledeable, and has a good sense of humor. She asked what we wanted to do and see and made suggestions of things she felt we might enjoy. She took us on a Li River day trip is not to be missed. She advised us on shopping and other things to do on our own. She did not rush us or try to push us to go to certain sights or stores. She stayed with us each day from early morning to what ever time we wanted. She even took us to an evening event after spending a full day showing us around. She also advised us on places to eat. We enjoyed her so much we wished we had allowed more time in Guilian. We plan on return to Guilian and will use Juli again.

We just got back from a week long trip in China covering Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu with TCT. We did Hangzhou and Shanghai on our own. TCT was suggested by a friend since his friend had used them before. My wife and I found Tina from TCT to be excellent and very helpful and accommodative in organizing our trip - including helpful suggestions on where to eat etc. she even organized our inter city travel tickets - we flew on China Eastern. Our guides in Xi'an (Paul) and in Chengdu (Lin) were simply fantastic. Paul was extremely professional, knowledgable and helpful. His explanations and English were super and he has lived in the US before. Lin was extremely friendly, kind and helpful - we had a fantastic time with her. Her English was super and we had a lot of fun in the trip. Both Paul & Lin are extremely good and enthusiastic about what they do and anyone having them as guides are very lucky - they even helped us in ordering food and interacting with the locals and adjust our itinerary. In Beijing you need to have strong legs and our guide Grace surely had them. Grace is friendly and energetic. The ground transportation used was excellent and the drivers were safe and courteous. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend TCT. We stayed in the Shangri-la chain of hotels throughout our trip and they were simply fantastic - excellent service, breakfast, locations and room - really felt like a home. Absolutely no regrets in our choices for Our China trip.

Top China Travel is the the tops! I booked an 21 day tour of China for my husband and I and from the very first contact with Lily Lui I was totally impressed. We communicated via e-mail and Lily was very quick and helpful with her responses. Because this was not our first trip to China, I wanted an itinerary that was different from the norm. Lily's recommendations were top notch. The hotels she used were top shelf as we requested. Our guides and drivers were fantastic. What impressed me the most was that when we were in China, Lily called to speak to me and make sure everything was going well. When I ran into some issues due to altitude sickness, I contacted her and she had the itinerary changes done and finalized within an hour. This was a private tour with guide and driver and I honestly can say there was not one thing I wished we had done differently. Thanks to Top China Travel and Lily our trip to China was perfect. I will definitely be contacting Lily when we return to China for yet another visit.

We travelled to China for our honeymoon and selected Top China Travel as our travel partner when visiting Zhangjiajie and Guilin. From the moment we spoke to Vicky Lu (the travel advisor), we knew that TopChinaTravel was a reliable company to join. Victor, our guide in Zhangjiajie was excellent. He took us to the best spots and gave us some valuable tips in order to avoid queues and the masses. We spent 4 days in Zhangjiajie. It was raining heavily on the first day and we didn't get to see much, but Victor went out of his way and changed around the itinerary in order for us to see the attractions on other days. We really appreciated this! In Guilin we were met by another excellent guide Ms. Liu. She was very helpful and noted carefully our wants and needs. We were never met with a negative answer whenever and whatever we asked. On the whole, this was an adventour of a lifetime for both myself and my wife! We definitely recommend Top China Travel as a tour operator in China!

I highly recommend Top China Travel (TCT) in particular Janet Chan for her excellent professional services in organising our recent tour in China. My wife and I did not want a group tour because we wanted greater flexibility so Janet put together a tour that took in all the major sight seeing cities. It was very well organised, the accommodation was great e.g. excellent locations, English speaking and delicious buffet breakfasts and close to all the major sights that will leave us with lasting memories. Her choice of guides was very good, they also spoke excellent English and had good personalities and were all very knowledgeable, the drivers were also very good and drove safely. In summary we believe that TCT provided a quality value added service and would recommend TCT to anyone looking for a reliable Chinese agency for organising their travels. We recently did a 14 day tour of China organised by Top China Travel. The trip was organised at the last minute as a result of a previous tour with another company being cancelled. There were four of us, all over 65, who travelled together. We were extremely impressed with the tour. It was well organised, well presented and communication was very effective throughout. Much of the tour’s success can be attributed to the enthusiasm, professionalism and good communication of Rebecca Wei our contact at Top China Travel. Rebecca’s knowledge of travel options and matching our needs to the arrangements was extremely valuable. Our tour involved Beijing-Xi'an-Guilin-Chongqing-Yangtze River Cruise-Yichang-Shanghai. Our tour guide for 4 days in Beijing was Quee Na, ably supported by our driver Mr I. They both went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, exciting and educational. We really appreciated their smiling welcoming faces and safe, punctual and flexible tours. Quee Na’s knowledge of the Beijing area was outstanding providing us with plenty of great advice for eating places, shopping etc. The visits to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall and the Summer Palace were all highlights. At the Great Wall we travelled up the hill on the chairlift walked 4 towers up and back and then 2 of us took the toboggan down- great fun at our age. We stayed at the Sunworld Hotel Beijing which is in a great location close Tiananmen Square and Shopping and clean comfortable rooms. Quee Na’s insight into the local area was very helpful. We travelled to Xian by fast train, averaging approx. 295 kms per hour. Very comfortable and smooth ride. On the train it is difficult to get your luggage close to you if you have large cases but Quee Na was able to find us a safe place to store. We stayed at Grand Noble Hotel Xi'an, once again well located and clean and comfortable. We did all the usual tourist things in Xian but one of the highlights was doing tai chi on the City Wall with a professional Tai Chi Master. We then travelled to Guilin by plane. Our tour guide in Guilin was Ann, who is outstanding. She has incredible energy levels, great knowledge of the local area and China as a whole and was great at tailoring activities to our needs. She was ably supported by our driver Mr Wong. We really enjoyed Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area (Dragon's Back), including a cable car ride. These terraces are built into the hillsides. We also went Li River Cruise (about 4 hours from Guilin to Yangshuo. Impressive scenery while cruising down the meandering river to Yangshuo. We stayed in Yangshuo for dinner to enable us to see The Show of Impression Liusanjie. This was organised by Ann and is highly recommended as an optional activity in Yangshuo. We stayed at Lijiang Waterfall Hotel. Once again a great location and providing 5 star rooms and service. While in Guilin we had an opportunity to meet Rebecca Wei who is based there who made us feel very welcome and double-checked to make sure all our needs were being met. We then travelled by fast train from Guilin to Chongqing. Ann made sure we were well organised and punctual for the train and sent us off with a huge smile. The Yangtze River cruise boat departs from Chongqing. We were on the President No.7 ship which holds up to 500 passengers; approximately 80% were Chinese with the rest quite a mix from around the world. The River Cruises in China are a little different to Europe, pithed more at economy class but the ship was clean, service was good, food was fine and the scenery through the 3 gorges awesome. We didn’t do the optional tours as we needed a couple of hours free to rest up after such a hectic time to date. The three gorges dam tour at the end was extremely interesting We flew from Yichang to Shanghai. Our base was the Sunrise on the Bund hotel. Probably the best hotel overall on the tour. Our guide in Shanghai was Leo. He is energetic, passionate and we all quickly became friends. Our driver was Mr Wong who beyond expectations to ensure our travels were safe and enjoyable, including making sure we got to the airport in plenty of time for our flight. Overall a great trip, very good value for money and we would have no hesitation in recommending Top China Travel to anybody considering a China Tour.
