Best Time to Visit Xian

Xi'an is one of the best tourist destination in China. The best time to visit Xi'an is from spring (March) to autumn (November), especially in June, July, August and September.

Xi'an weather in spring (March to May) is a warm season. There is occasionally dust storm which may cause inconvenient, but most days are fine and comfortable with coat and trousers, along with spare sweater. Spring is the best time to visit Xi'an.

Xi'an weather in summer (June to August) is with temperature differs between day and night. It is the rainy season so that an umbrella will be fine if you choose this period to Xi'an.

For budget tourists, winter is a good choice because of the less cost. May be some attractions will be closed. But many indoor tourist attractions in Xi'an such as the Qin Terracotta Army, Stele Forest, Shaanxi History Museum and the Great Mosque also welcome tourists.

The best time to visit Xi'an will be when the average temperatures are at a comfortable level (between 20°C / 68.0°F and 30°C / 86.0°F on average) which is during months June, July, August and September.
 
Other great months to visit Xi'an are April, May and October when the average temperatures are a little cooler but still between a pleasant 10°C / 50.0°F and 20°C / 68.0°F. If you don't mind bringing a coat, you might also enjoy visiting Xi'an during January, February, March, November and December but average temperatures are fairly cool (between 0°C / 32.0°F and 10°C / 50.0°F). In September and October, temperatures vary greatly between morning and evening, averaging 18-26°C. A short-sleeve T-shirt is sufficient for midday, but a long-sleeve jacket is recommended for mornings and evenings. In November and December, average temperatures range from 1-12°C, with dry weather, so it's best to wear winter clothing.)
