Terracotta Warriors

Terracotta Warriors, renown in the world as a great human-made wonder made 2000  years ago, is the outstanding representative of ancient Xian, and the highlight of Xian tour. Terracotta Warriors is an UNESCO World Heritage site, regarded as the Eighth Wonder in the world. Terracotta Warriors as a card of China ancient history, is a must visit attraction for a China tour. And It has attracted hundreds of millions of tourists to come, and among those tourists, we see many big politic leaders from the world.


Terracotta Warriors

Terracotta Warriors or Terracotta Army is made by clay, buried under the ground by the first Emperor of Qin Dynasty, and founded by villages in 1974. Terracotta Warriors is a part of Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, and it has three pits for tourists to visit, Pit 1, Pit 2, and Pit 3. Pit 1 is the biggest one, with an area of 14,260 square meters, and  the three pits have about 8000 pieces of terracotta warriors and horses which have a 1:1 ratio with real people and horses. Those terracotta warriors are lined up in order, with cavalry, infantry and chariot soldiers, etc. Except terracotta warriors and horses, it also has many bronze weapons.
 

Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the symbolic structures in Xian, built in 652 for the monk Xuanzang who went to India through Silk Road and brought back sutras and the sutras.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the earliest and biggest brick pagoda built in the Tang Dynasty, with seven floors, in a height of 64.5 meters. In Big Wild Goose Pagoda, tourists could learn more about ancient pagodas, see Sakyamuni sculpture in the second floor, and the small model of Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the third floor, see ancient Sanskrit in the fourth floor. In Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square, tourists could see the sculpture of Xuanzang, and music fountain.

 

Shaanxi History Museum

Shaanxi History Museum

Shaanxi History Museum is one of the best museums in China, and it has collected tremendous precious historical and cultural relics and art works made by the great. Shaanxi History Museum is located in Xiaozhai East Road, Xian, close to Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and accessible by metro and public bus.

Five Regular Galleries. Shaanxi History Museum has three permanent galleries, and exhibits relics telling the story of China’s 5000 years history. Gallery of Wall Painting Treasures of the Tang Dynasty displays almost 600 paintings unearthed from tombs of ancient Tang Dynasty, and they depict etiquette, clothing, custom, entertainment and buildings of that time. Gallery of Tang Relic Treasure exhibits treasures unearthed from a cellearing in Hejia village, which has over 1,000 pieces of golden wares, silver wares, jewelry, Chinese and foreign coins, etc. Except these galleries, it has temporary galleries for cultural exchange and other exhibitions.

 

Xian City Wall, Xian Bell & Drum Towers

Xian City Wall, built 600 years ago in the Ming Dynasty, is the biggest and best preserved ancient city wall in China. Xian City Wall was built for city safety, and now it is a must visit tourist attraction. It is a close rectangle with 18 gates, closing an area of 12.32 square kilometers, with the city wall 12 meters high, 12-14 meter  wide in the top, 15-18 meter wide in the bottom and a perimeter of 13.74 km. Xian City Wall is quiet at morning, beautiful at night, and tourists could visit Xian City Wall from early morning to night, ride bikes on Xian City Wall and see Xian city view on the city wall.

Xian City Wall is for protection, then Xian Bell & Drum Towers are for chiming and sending messages. Xian Bell and Drum Towers are located in Xian center, beautifully built, with 3 floors, and they work together to chiming.  Xian Drum Tower was built a bit earlier than Xian Bell Tower, in 1380, and the Bell Tower in 1384. Tourists with enough time for Xian tour are recommended Xian Bell and Drum Towers, and in fact visiting this two towers won’t take much time.

 

Xian Famous Food & Muslim Street

Xian famous food are Rou Jia Mo, Mutton  Paomo, Xian noodles, Xian Gourd Chicken and Liangpi. Rou Jia Mo is kind of Chinese hamburger, with meat inside of a cake. Mutton Paomo is a classic Xian dish, with ingredients of mutton, rice vermicelli, bread and green onion. Except Rou Jia Mo and Mutton Paomo, Guokui and dumplings are two of the favorite food in Xian.

Xian noodles enjoys a great name in Chinese food, and it has many kinds of noodles. The famous Xian noodles are Qishan noodles, Biangbiang noodles, noodles with soy bean paste, and beef noodles. If you like noodles, there are so many delicious noodles that you should really try.

Muslim Street, a residential area of Muslim people, has built a name as a food street, popular to local people and tourists. Muslim Street has been a must visit place in Xian, and tourists could taste Xian famous food, and buy souvenirs in there.

If you are vegan, dumpling or Jiao Zi would be a great choice for you. You could have vegetarian dumplings, with stuffing like celery, and white turnip. If you are a Muslim, Xian would be a great place for you to visit. Still, Xian have many exotic restaurants for diners.

Mount Huashan

Mount Huashan

Mount Huashan, one of the Five Sacred Mountains or Five Great Mountains in China, is renowned for its steepness, challenge in climbing, and also great mountain scenery. Mount Huashan Scenic Area consists of several parts, but its highlight is the main peaks part, with its five main peaks. East Peak is perfect to see sunrise, and the sky road is on  South Peak, and every peak has gorgeous scenery. A long tour in Mount Huashan would take two days, and one night stays on the mountain.

Where is Xian & Xian Transport

Xian is the capital of Shaanxi province, the biggest city in northwestern China, and one of the Top 10 cities in China. Xian is located in the middle of Shaanxi province, close to Zhengzhou, Lanzhou, Chengdu, and Chongqing.
