Li River--漓江

Li River is the top ranked attraction in Guilin that reputed for its graceful scenery, which is also one of China's most famous scenic areas. Originated in in Mountain Cat at Xinan County in the northeast of Guilin, during its 170 kilometers journey, it flows through the picturesqure city to the outlet of Gongchen River in Pingle County. The whole Li River Scenic Area is the biggest and the most enchanting Karst tourist site of the world.

The 83-km-long waterway from Guilin to Yangshuo is the masterpiece of Li River. Along the river, the rolling peaks, steep cliffs, green hills and clear water constitute a fascinating hundred-mile pictures gallery. The natural beauty of the Li River is indeed beyond any descriptions, you have to be there to see with your own eyes and to feel with your own heart.

Longji Rice Terrace--龙脊梯田

About 100 km (2 hours driving) from Guilin City, Longji Rice Terrace of Longsheng County is another star attraction of greater Guilin scenic area, which showing a picture of great momentum and imposing beauty, considered the best of its kind. Attracted people from home and abroad, those terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top, all famous for their creative layout, well-toned figure, extraordinary size and alternative beauties in different seasons.

During the spring, especially when all the fields are irrigated (around mid-Apr to late May), you will be impressed by the enchanting view that every irrigated field just like a mirror that reflecting the color and imagine of the skies. While when autumn comes, you can see golden yellow grains, in chains, standing in the fields with their heads swinging in the wind.

Reed Flute Cave--芦笛岩

Reed Flute Cave is a famous scenic spot in Guilin and an outstanding landmark of its kind. Only 5 kilometers to the northwest of Guilin City, this Karst-style cave offers a majestic fairyland of karst caves with landscape and rural scenery.

With a length of 240 meters, this cave is considered the natural marvel that owns its unique beauty of a large amount of stalactites and stalagmites, with their endless variety of remarkable scenes and visitors in the cave could undoubtedly evoke breathless admiration from domestic and foreign visitors.

Elephant Trunk Hill--象鼻山

Elephant Trunk Hill is the symbol and unmistakable landmark of Guilin City that stands downtown on the conjunction of the Li River and the Peach Blossom River, which enjoys a very special appearance. The whole hill looks exactly like a huge elephant stretching its trunk drinking water of the Li River, hence the name.

It is the masterpiece of karst landscape, composed of pure limestone deposited on seabed 360million years ago. Between the "trunk" and the "body" is a vast round cave which resembles a full moon on water hence the name Moon-over-Water Cave. When the waters wave and the moonlight gleams, the scene is exceedingly enchanting.

Two Rivers and Four Lakes--两江四湖

The famous Guilin municipal Two Rivers and Four Lakes system is a project integrating all the highlights of Guilin scenery. Formed by two river (Li River and Peach Blossom River) and four lakes including Fir Lake (Shahu), Banyan Lake (Ronghu), Guihu Lake (Osmanthus Lake) and the newly dug Wood Dragon Lake (Mulong Lake), this project is the largest one in scale in the history of Guilin. And because of this municipal system, Guilin has been developed the truly gardening city in the wolrd.

The project of water system reconstruction was launched in 1998 and completed in 2002, forming a round-the-city waterway that linking the four lakes Guihu Lake, Ronghu Lake, Shanhu Lake, Mulong Lake and the two rivers Li River, Taohua River (Peach Blossom River) together, which enables Guilin to be a scenic city of park.. Though located in downtown, the lake areas are beautiful and quiet city gardens.

Seven Star Park--七星公园

Covered an area of 134 hectares, Seven Star Park is the biggest comprehensive park in Guilin with the best natural environment. Situated on the eastern side of the Li River, this park has many attractive tourist sites such as the Follower Bridge, Camel Hill, Seven Star Cave and others.

The elegantly constructed Flowers Bridge is the main gateway to the park. It was first built in the Song Dynasty and renovated in the Ming Dynasty. It's said that in the ancient time the bridge was well surrounded by wild flaming flowers in spring, thus the name of the bridge. Unfortunately, the number of flowers reduced greatly during the Qing Dynasty and now visitors can't find any.

Seven Star Cave--七星岩

The Seven Star Cave is one of the most popular toursit attractions in Seven Star Park. The earliest exploration of Seven-Star Cave dates back to the Tang Dynasty, some 1,300 years ago. It is a fantastic karst cave with a large number of stalagmites and stalactites, which decorate the cave into an eye-dazzling beautiful place.

The cave has a year-round temperature of about 20 Celsius. The maximum ceiling height inside is 27 meters, and the maximum width is 49 meters. A concrete and stone tour path of approximately 1,000 meters runs through the cave between its entrance and exit points.
