Zhijindong Cave Global Geopark is located in the west of Guizhou Plateau, which is located in Zhijin county and Qianxi of Bijie City, Guizhou Province, and its main parts(Zhijindong Cave, Qijie River Park and most of Dongfeng Lake Park) are located in Zhijin County. Zhijindong Cave, which consists of Zhijindong Cave, Qijie River and Dongfeng Lake, respectively represents different development processes of karst landform, is one of the outstanding representative places reflecting the evolution of cave karst and cave chemical deposits, and is the most unique natural beauty in karst cave. They form a comprehensive geological park with caves, canyons, natural bridges and sinkhole as the core, which integrates magnificent, typical, beautiful and rare plateau karst landscapes and colorful humanistic and biological landscapes.
Formerly known as the Daji Cave(Chinese name: 打鸡洞), it is located in northeastern Guizhou Zhijin county Guanzhai Village Township, 120 kilometers from the provincial capital Guiyang. Split into three layers, the cave extends for some 13.5 km (8.4 mi) over a total area of 7 km2 (2.7 sq mi) and is believed to possess the largest unsupported roof span of any cave worldwide.
With rich ethnic customs, there are many specialties. Zhijin Cave(Chinese name: 织金洞) in Miao ethnic area where you can enjoy the Miao performance, you can jump up with joy of Lusheng dance. In addition, great “golden black jade” marble series products, the primitive wax printing souvenir and crack pot or casserole can be purchased here, and high nutrition bamboo fungus, gastrodia elata, and other products, is a famous specialty of Zhijin county. Unique flavor of the “Gongbao chicken”, “buckwheat bean jelly”, and “pot potato with stinky tofu”, which can make visitors taste aftertaste.

At present, most of the caves discovered at home and abroad only have 1-5 cave chambers, but most of them have only 1-2 cave chambers with an area of more than 10,000 square meters. There are 13 cave chambers with a floor area of more than 3,000 square meters and 6 cave chambers with an area of more than 10,000 square meters in Zhijin Cave, making it the first cave chamber group in the world.
Stalactites
There are many stalactites hanging on the ceiling of Zhijindong Cave. They are of different sizes, mostly thick on the top and thin on the bottom. The overall scale is large, with a diameter of 10-90cm and a length of 20-190cm. There are mainly normal(that is, inverted cone or rod), flag-shaped, curtain-shaped, shield-shaped, lung-shaped, tongue-shaped, breast-shaped, phototropism and other morphological types.
Stone Pillars
There are many stone pillars in Zhijindong Cave, which are often associated with stalagmites. They are also the most important chemical deposits in Zhijin Cave. They are mainly distributed in the third and fourth floors of the first main cave (Gate of the Zhijindong Cave-Moon Sun Pool-Wangshan Lake-Guanghan Palace-Shiwandashan), with colorful shapes and unique shapes, mainly including normal, shield-shaped, pipa-shaped, round tower-shaped, palm-shaped and spindle-shaped.
Stalactites in Zhijindong Cave has the highest distribution density and the richest types of stalactites in the world. The secondary chemical deposits in Zhijindong Cave include carbonate, sulfate calcite, aragonite, brucite and gypsum. Stalactites such as goose tube, stalactite, stalagmite, stone pillar, stone curtain, stone waterfall, stone flag, stone shield, stone dam, palm leaf, curly stone, spindle stone, stone grape, calcite flower, gypsum flower, etc. are developed, especially helmet-shaped, mound-shaped, tower-shaped, mushroom-shaped, tassong-shaped, spindle-shaped and turn-shaped.
Their types, from all kinds of gravity water, such as dripping water, running water, splashing water, pool water, etc., to non-gravity water, cooperation, superposition and other types, are almost complete in the types and forms that have been scientifically classified and named, and they are complete from macro to micro, from water to underwater, from early to modern, and from carbonate to sulfate, respectively, representing various forming environments. They are rare in caves at home and abroad for their exotic shapes, huge volume, perfect and diverse mineral crystals, numerous quantities, complete types and dense distribution.
