Chengdu Must-see Panda Base

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, located at the north part of Chengdu City, is a non-profit research and breeding facility of giant pandas and also other rare animals. This institution is aiming at protecting rare animals especially giant panda from extinct.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is 10 kilometers from Chengdu downtown and 30 kilometers from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, which is the nearest panda base in Chengdu. At the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, you can see the lovable giant pandas and interesting interaction between giant pandas and panda breeders.

Kindly reminder, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding will be crowded at weekends and public holidays of China. And the best time to see the giant pandas in Chengdu is in the morning(before 11:00) because the pandas will be taken indoor if the weather is over 26℃.
 

Must See Museums in Chengdu

Sanxingdui Museum
Sanxingdui Museum is a large modern thematic museum exhibits relics and unearthed artifacts in Sanxingdui ruins. The Sanxingdu is the ruins of the ancient Shu, a Kingdom over 4,000 years ago. The Museum is recognized as one of world's most important ancient remains because of its vast size, age and cultural contents.
 

Sanxingdui Museum is one of the most famous museums in Chengdu. It is about 40 kilometers from Chengdu. Visiting the Sanxingdui Museum, we will know more about the Sanxingdui Site, Bashu culture and the long history of Yangtze River. At the Sanxingdui Museum, we will see some famous and important bronze artifacts and golds. At Sanxingdui Museum, you can also see some cultural creative products with interesting shapes and typical elements of the collections of Sanxingdui Museum, which you can admire slowly and purchase for souvenirs.

Mount Emei

Leshan Giant Buddha
Leshan Giant Buddha, is the tallest stone Buddhist statue in the world with a height of 71m. It was caved out of the cliff at the junction of the Minjiang River, Dadu and Qingyi Rivers, 1,299 years ago. The site was listed on the World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1996.

To admire the majesty of the Leshan Giant Buddh, you can climb the mountain to appreciate the giant Buddha closely and carefully, fully experiencing the masterpiece of the ancient people of Chinese. If you want to admire the full view of the giant Buddha in the distance, you can also take the cruise to enjoy the spectacular scene of the Leshan Giant Buddha. Jiuzhai Valley
Jiuzhaigou Valley is a well-known fairyland that features perennially snow-capped mountain peaks, verdant and lush forest, stretches of serene lakes, and various birds and animals. Upon entering the resort, you will find yourself strolling in a fairyland, leaving behind nothing but earthly troubles and vexations.
 
Jiuzhai Valley is one of the most famous and beautiful places in Sichuan Province, which is about 400 kilometers from Chengdu. Jiuzhai Valley can be reached by high-speed train directly from Chengdu, which is very convenient.

Jiuzhai Valley is known as its lakes, streams, waterfalls, forests, snow mountains and Tibetan culture. The lakes at Jiuzhai Valley is unique and characteristic because its color is turquoise and may change because of the sunlight. The Jiuzhai Valley is most charming in autumn(September to November) with the colorful autumn foliage and rich water in the lakes and waterfalls. And autumn is also the most crowded time of Jiuzhai Valley.

Chengdu Must-see Commercial Streets

Chunxi Road
Location: In the heart of the shopping district in Chengdu

Chunxi Road enjoys its reputation as the most flourishing and prosperous commercial pedestrian street in Chengdu, featuring both national and international brands, for example; Nike, Adidas, and Li-Nings. But it is not only a fashion center; you can also find many delicious Chengdu snacks here.

With a history of about a hundred years, Chunxi Road in Chengdu witnessed historical changes and developments of Chengdu. Standing in the central square of Chunxi Road, facing the International Finance Square(IFS), the giant panda climbs on the top side of the building, and tourists stop on the street to take photos of the panda.

On the right hand side, you can see modern buildings and historical buildings. Ocean Taikooli Commercial Complex has gathered many well-known brands at home and abroad, many of which are the first stores in China and Sichuan. The citizens can take a tea break, do shopping or play with new technology products here. On the left, you can see Parkson Department Store, Wangfujing Mall and Pacific Department Store.

It is the only remaining ancient street of Qing Dynasty in Chengdu, which combines the residences of Sichuan and the hutong culture in northern China. Kuanzhai Alley witnessed the history and development of Chengdu. Kuanzhai Alley is the best place to walk around leisurely in Chengdu.
 

At the Kaun Alley, you can see the complete old buildings of Qing Dynasty, where you can know about the life of Chengdu people in the past. At the Zhai Alley, you can see architectures of Qing Dynasty as well as some buildings with obvious Western styles. Here you can taste western foods. At the Jing Alley, you can taste various kinds of snacks of old Chengdu, purchase folk gadgetry and visit the cultural walls.
