Train from Chengdu to Guilin
There is only one train traveling from Chengdu to Guilin with daily departure. The train number is K652. Train from Chengdu to Guilin departs from Chengdu East Railway Station and arrive at Guilin Railway Station. It starts off at 15:27 in the first day, then arrive at 16:53 in the second day. The running hours is about 25 hours and 26 minutes.
Train from Guilin to Chengdu
The train from Guilin to Chengdu is K651 departing from Guilin Railway Station and arriving at Chengdu East Railway Station. It starts off at 13:25 in the first day and arrive at 12:53 in the second day. The runnig hour is about 23 hours and 28 minutes.

1. Booking an original train is easier than booking a passing-by train. Train ticket can be booked 20 days in advance at most. It is highly recommended visitors to book the tickets as soon as possible, in case that the tickets are sold out. Hard sleeper seats are divided into upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper (lower hard sleeper is the best); while soft sleeper seats are divided into upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper (lower soft sleeper is better). One would better buy the soft sleeper ticket, which will give you a more comfortble train travel in China.
3. In China, taking a train is a comparative cheaper way to cut down the travel cost. While correspondingly, the comfortable level is lower than by air.
Luggage: you need to take the luggages by yourself and keep an eye of them on transporting time, no luggage-checking service on the train
Carriage: it may be crowded when in the domestic travel seasons as well as summer holidays.

Try to Avoid domestic travel seasons
Chinese Spring Festival (usually in late Jan or early Feb.), International Labour Day (May 01 to 03) and National Day (Oct 01-07) and Summer Holiday are peak tourist seasons. The scenic spots are quite crowded. Spring Festival and the National Day golden week are the most crowded time for travelling and the price is also very high.
