Pingyao - Datong Trains

There are four pairs of trains traveling between Pingyao Railway Station and Datong Railway Station. The running hours ranges from 7 hours and a half to 8 hours and fifteen minutes. One of them is express train and the rest are normal trains. 

►Train from Pingyao to Datong

The earliest train from Pingyao to Datong starts of at 07:27 am with duration of 7 hours and 54 mintutes, while the latest train departs at 21:14 and arrives at 04:42 in the next day with a duration of 7 hours and 28 minutes.

Recommended train: K7807 departs at 12:09 from Pingyao and arrives at 19:43 in Datong is suggestted to take, for it starts off at noon, travellers do not need to catch the train in a rush and it terminates in early evening, so it you some time to get to the hotel.

The earliest train departs at 06:17 from Datong and the latest train at 23:17.

Recommended train: Train No.2463 is suggested to take. It is a over-night train, starting off at 23:17 and arrives at 06:22.Travelers can have a good sleep on the train at night with buying sleeper ticket and save time to do sightseeing activities during the day. Also, it takes the shortest time on the way.

Hard sleeper has three sub-categories: upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper; Soft sleeper has two sub-categories: upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper. If yo take a over-night train or long distance train, you would better buy a ticket for soft sleeper to make your trip more comfortable.

3. In China, taking a train is a comparative cheaper way to cut down the travel cost. While correspondingly, the comfortable level is lower than by air.
Luggage: you need to take the luggage by yourself and keep an eye of them on transporting time, no luggage-checking service on the train
Carriage: it may be crowded when in the domestic travel seasons as well as summer holidays.

Best Time to Visit Pingyao
The best time to visit Pingyao is in autumn and winter, especially September, October, and November. And another recommended time is Chinese New Year which may lie in Jan or Feb. Try to Avoid Domestic Travel Seasons
The most crowded seasons in China are Chinese Spring Festival (usually in late Jan or early Feb.), International Labour Day (May 01 to 03) and National Day (Oct 01-07). Spring Festival and the National Day golden week are the most crowded time for travelling.
