My wife and I spent the beginning of a 11 day China trip in Beijing. Our trip was through Top China Travel and our travel advisor was Janet Chan. This phase of our trip went very well. Jim our guide and Mr Wong our driver were wonderful hosts. Mr Wong was punctual, safe, helpful, and friendly. Jim was very knowledgeable, informative, and friendly. If the rest of the trip goes this well we will be happy travelers.

Our family, along with some friends (eight of us in total), recently traveled to China using Top China Travel (TCT) as our travel agent/tour company. We painstakingly planned the trip with TCT's Janet as our adviser and logistics planner. Janet did an exceptional job with our overall itinerary, inter-China travel, local guide selection, meal and activity planning, etc. Her attention to detail and personal touches, such as providing a surprise birthday cake for one of our fellow travelers, or providing a bottle of champagne for our Great Wall visit, made the trip special. We did a traditional tour of Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin/Yangshou, and Shanghai, and also squeezed in Zhangjiajie, which was one of the major highlights of the trip. Along with seeing/experiencing most, if not all, of the major attractions in each area, our itinerary also included a calligraphy class, a cooking class, and three entertaining shows. The schedule was quite aggressive but all of our TCT guides were very accommodating and flexible, Sometimes the crowds were extremely challenging, or sometimes we simply needed more time to eat or shop, etc, and each time, our TCT guides simply worked with us to make sure we were happy. Sean in Beijing and Lisa in Guilin/Yangshou were exceptional. We can't say enough about their friendly personalities, professionalism, knowledge, language skills, and organization. We highly recommend TCT and Janet if you're trying to make a decision on a Chinese tour company. Everything about our tour from the initial planning to the tourist site visits/activities/meals was first class, highly professional, and extremely friendly.

I had such a wonderful time on this very well scheduled and prepared tour! I got to see so many amazing sights and I loved every minute of it. The friendly and helpful guides has made this trip most memorable for me. They was the best tour guides I could have imagined. They made me feel save, guided, comfortable, informed, and interested in our daily scheduled tours. They are professionals who is in tune with his clients interests at all times and could introduce all the places of interest and various landmarks to me at the same time. I will remember this trip forever, thanks a lot! Being in a private tour I could spend more time in the places that I liked and did not feel me rushed. Thanks for the well-planned hotel where I slept were lovely and at breakfast the food were freshly made and delicious. This is a very professional and well-organised tour, it made me feel like I am having friends bring me around to show me the sights, history and culture of your wonderful Country. It was such a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend Top China Travel Tour Operator to anyone who wants to explore China. I came back to Brazil already missing my Chinese friends and guides. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you for the welcome, professionalism and friendship during my journey through China. I intend to visit China again and no doubt the next time will request your services again. Thanks & Regards Claudio Graziani Romaris São Paulo, BRAZIL

We used Top China Travel for planning our trip from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Bonnie from TCT was our contact person. She was very helpful, corresponded with us by email before our trip and was extremely responsive and flexible, trying to accommodate our interests. . Every aspect of the trip was well planned and organized. She purchased our tickets on the bullet train, reserved our hotel in Hangzhou (hotel Shangri-La), arranged for airport transfer, and excellent private guide in Hangzhou and Shanghai. We highly recommend TCT for visiting China. Thank you Bonnie.

We recently returned from a 16 day tour of China. Our holiday was organised by Rebecca Wei who was a pleasure to deal with. We arrived in Beijing and departed from Shanghai. There was lots to organise as we had two internal flights and three train journeys as well as three nights on a boat cruising the Yangtze river. All the arrangments fell into place like clockwork, our guides were excellent, spoke very good english and had a good knowledge of the places we visited. We saw some fantastic sights but some of the highlights for us were The Great Wall, The Yungang Grottoes, The Hanging Temple Datong, The terrracotta warriors and the muslim quarter in Xiang and the cruise on the Yangtze. We travelled in September so the temperatures were around 28C [ fine for us as we live in Durban] it is also a good time as the lines to get enterance to some places were very short. There was a lot of walking involved so comfortable walking shoes are a must as well as a sun hat. We stayed in a couple of "traditional" hotels which we loved and then some very upmarket hotels. The exception was the hotel in Xiang which scored 100% on location but had some very unfriendly staff a poor restaurant as well as putting us in an unrenovated room for the first night. We moved to the renovated floors for the other night which was much better. I should add here that this was a mistake by the hotel not TCT] My one regret is that we should have stayed a night in Wuzhen Water Town but that really was not practical as we had to leave our hotel in Shanghai at 4 in the morning to catch the flight home. We have some wondefull memories so thank you Rebecca and TCT for organizing a really interesting holiday Andrew and Anne B, DurbanSouth Africa

We hired TCT as a private guide with car for travel to Beijing, Shanghai and Huanzhou. TCT prepared the day-by-day program, booked first class hotels and train tickets and arranged for very good English speaking guides, among them Cathy in Beijing was amamzing. The cars were veryy good, the drivers were diriving very well but carefully. The program was followed with a very high degree of precision and the guides and drivers allowed also for flexibility. We enjoyed the trip very much and also very much appreciated the services provided bt TCT. The attractions included were paid in advance.

Even though the boarding process might be a bit of a hassle, the tour is totally worth it: amazing landscape and unspoilt nature. One sees locals fishing, big birds, daily river life. The one hour trips on the river don’t do this fantastic amd unique lime stone scenery justice, the 4 hour cruise is very recommendable if you want to see this Guilin highlight! The boats are very comfortable, one can order Chinese food. With children it is recommendable to bring hats, sunscreen, snacks ( in case they don’t like the Chinese meal offered), binoculars and cards.

We planned a family trip around China with people joining and leaving during the journey as they had to go back to work. Going the first time to China we decided to book trough an agency to simplify things from our side. We contacted several agencies asking for an offer. TCT was by far the first one to in the most professional way, so we went with them. After 3 weeks of travelling with them I can fully recommend this company when travelling in China.
Especially our consultant, Vicky of whom we just can speak highly of, did a great job with managing to get all things together always on time and the way we wanted it. If there was an issue we could contact her at any time and we could be sure that she will get it done, somehow.
Note: WeChat used to prove very useful when travelling around and get in touch with guides etc.
Thank you TCT Team for organizing this great family holiday.

Huge thank you to Janet and Eric for an excellent trip to Beijing. Booking our trip with Janet was informative of all the available itineraries and destinations to visit and she made it easy to book our chosen one. Janet kept in touch even on our birthdays, most appreciated. We were met at the airport by Eric who was very friendly and knowledgable about Beijing and very happy to answer questions we had.The days were well planned and included several attractions all in one day. For example in one day we visited Tian'an,en square, the Forbidden city and the temple of heaven. Transport from place to place was seamless and very comfortable. Overall our experience in Beijing was extremely interesting and stress free. We will definitely highly recommend Top China Travel to friends who want a great experience in Beijing.

With TCT I have organized a 21 days tour for my family: my wife, my 9 years old daughter and me (in august ) We asked to Rebecca (our TCT consultant), who has patiently worked for more than 6 months on all details, to see, not only the most interesting things but to understand a little the Chinese way of life. The goal of the journey was to let my daughter to see different way of life and unusual (for us) landscape. The other objective was to visit China like a Chinese tourist can do. All these things weren’t easy to organize, but after more than six months of planning we were exited to visit the Country and we had really high expectation. It seems impossible but all the goals have been reached and TCT make us to live unforgettable visit of China. During the organization of the tour Rebecca suggested us to add some destinations to our trip and that makes our trip something unique. One the most interesting thing is that in most of the hotel (all 4 stars – western standard- and really comfortable) we never meet western people, that mean we were out of usual tour. All the guides had high professional behavior, knowledge and did their best to let us to see as much as possible. Consider that we were with a 9 years old child and nothing went wrong. All the drivers, considering the traffic situation in China, have been super! They did all the best in order to take us closer to all attractions in the safest way. Guides and drivers has been very flexible. Some days we have been together more than 12 hours! All the guides make arrangement of the tour in order to avoid queue and visit more. That has surprise me a lot. We have visited places like Mt.Huangshan, Hongcun Village (set of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Tulou in Fujian , Shaolin Zen Music Ritual in Denfeng (a show that worth the journey in China – the biggest stage we ever seen - , suggested by Rebecca) or arhat clay statues at White Horse Temple in Louyang ( if you have seen Terraccota Army in Xi’an you will remain astonished in front of this sculptures), descending from Grat Wall with a toboga, ride a bike on Xi’an city wall or visit a daily market in Beijing. We have attended to the Mask Changing show and 1000 Hands Dance , few minute show but hard to find in a show. Just to list some of the wonderful things we have experienced. But, the most astonishing thing has been that in some places “we were the attraction”. Western people were so unusual that parents asked to my daughter to take pictures with their children !!! Very Chinese !!! In Guilin we meet Rebecca from TCT after little bit less than one year of e-mails ! A great moment too. The only thing that TCT could not manage was the weather, but we have been lucky. Quite always blues sky and just one day of heavy rain. We could not ask more ! A special thanks to our guides Tony around Huangshan, Candy in Shangai, Mike in Xi’an, Mina in Fujian and Shane in Luoyang. And a special special thanks to Linda in Beijing and Tina in Guilin that have done so much for us in order satisfy all our wishes! Deep knowledge, flexibility and enthusiasm made us to enter in Chinese culture. . Interesting, safe and well organized! We are thinking to visit more China in the future with TCT, we trust them !

We travelled to China for our honeymoon and selected Top China Travel as our travel partner when visiting Zhangjiajie and Guilin. From the moment we spoke to Vicky Lu (the travel advisor), we knew that TopChinaTravel was a reliable company to join. Victor, our guide in Zhangjiajie was excellent. He took us to the best spots and gave us some valuable tips in order to avoid queues and the masses. We spent 4 days in Zhangjiajie. It was raining heavily on the first day and we didn't get to see much, but Victor went out of his way and changed around the itinerary in order for us to see the attractions on other days. We really appreciated this! In Guilin we were met by another excellent guide Ms. Liu. She was very helpful and noted carefully our wants and needs. We were never met with a negative answer whenever and whatever we asked. On the whole, this was an adventour of a lifetime for both myself and my wife! We definitely recommend Top China Travel as a tour operator in China!

I wasn’t told about pick up time until very late the night before (and I had to contact them about it). They did upgrade us from a group tour to a private one though, which was nice. Our driver and guide were the same person. He picked us up from our hotel in the morning and drove us to the place where we boarded the cruise. He got our tickets for us and told us he’d be waiting for us when the ship docked at Yangshuo. The cruise itself was very nice. It was 4 hours and included a boxed lunch (the food was actually pretty good). The views were great and it was nice to be able to alternate between being outside on the deck and inside. The only bad thing about the cruise is that all the announcements about what we were passing were all in Chinese. When we docked, we met our guide and he took us to West St (really cool), Ten-Mile Gallery, and we went bamboo rafting on Yulong River (this was awesome and I highly recommend this)! At the end of the day, he dropped us off at Chongshan at our request (we had asked him for a recommendation for a place with good Guilin rice noodles and apparently Chongshan is known for that). We liked that our guide/driver took great photos for us throughout the day. However, we were disappointed that we felt a bit rushed. We also felt that he was trying to sell us side trips, which bothered us a little. Also, when we were driving back to Guilin someone hit the car from behind (it wasn’t our driver’s fault) and I hit my head pretty hard yet he didn’t ask us if we were okay.

My wife had travelled to China before but it was my first time. We had a limit of 2 weeks and Top China Travel's 13-day Dreamy Plateau ticked the box for duration and interesting stops, including Beijing, Xian (Terracota Army), Lhasa (Tibet), Chengdu (pandas!) and Shanghai. This was a private tour, that is to say that for each destination we were met by a guide, driver and car at each arrival airport/station and they were ours exclusively for the duration of our stay in that location. The tour was well organised by Janet Chan at TCT and we had the option of hooking up with a small group tour for the Tibet stop and saving about $200 on the overall cost, which we elected to do. The guides were all knowledgeable and very good English speakers. Drivers seemed to err on the side of safety (and that is fine by me!) and cars were all in excellent condition. As mentioned, this is a private tour so, although there is only 2 or 3 days per location, with a dedicated guide and car, a lot can be fitted into that time. In summary, the tour delivered what we wanted. I may never get back to China but I have seen as many of the sights I could have hoped for in the time I had available. And did so in some comfort. If this tour features the sights that you want to see and it fits your budget I would thoroughly recommend it.

We had a wonderful tour of Beijing, Xi’an, Lhasa, Chengdu and Shanghai. Our tour guide/ planner , Joyce , was so pleasant and helpful from beginning to end. We kept in touch throughout our tour through what’s app when any questions arose. Our personal tour guides in each city were knowledgeable and friendly as well as all of our drivers. We would highly recommend China tours. ( ask for Joyce!)
