My parents and I used top China travel for ten days across China, they were excellent to deal with. The Guilin trip was amazing, such wonderful place I highly recommend it to everyone. our guide was very helpful and went well beyond expectations to make sure we were comfortable and got to see all the things we wanted to. Thank you very much :-)

We visited Beijing, Xian, Guilin, and Hong Kong. Our agent Rebecca was very helpful setting up the trip and very responsive to our questions. Our guide in Beijing, Linda, was a joy to be around. We made a friendship with her as we ended up spending a lot of time together. This personal service is most valuable to me as a seasoned world traveler who is used to solo travel. Having her as a guide made me feel like I knew someone in Beijing who was taking me to all those places I had previously only read about. Xian is cultural and Guilin is beautiful and we are so happy with our selection and with TCT.

My wife and I chose TCT to plan a two week private tour of China for us and we are very glad that we did. Yocky, our travel planner, was excellent and everything worked out exactly as she had told us it would. The guides were well chosen and by and large spoke quite passable English. The younger ones sometimes tended to try and cram too much to do in one day for an older couple, but they were very flexible and quite willing to make minor alterations to our set progamme on our request. All in all, I would recommend TCT to anyone who wants an in depth look at China and its people.

If you want experience the China that the Chinese see, and have it done with care and efficiency, by all means use Top China Travel for courteous on the spot and on time connections for the trip of your life. The staff supplied an English interpreter so that the trip was enjoyed by all English speaking participants. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip at all.

Almost every Guilin hotel can provide something like this tour, including a bus return with a couple of pleasant stops. The basic set up is hotel pickup, transport to a boat loading area, a flotilla of those boats going down the river, and then some time in Yangshuo. But be careful about the return. It is often an add on item for an additional cost, and the connection in Yangshuo can be a bit dicey if your boat happens to be going behind schedule. So book through your hotel and take a phone so you can contact the tour guide if you need to. But you might also want to stay overnight in Yangshuo. That's probably what I would do if I had it to do over.

Our guide picked us up on time despite all the traffic of National Holiday Week and explained to us early on that her English was not great (however still enough to communicate some history of the village and the region) but she was very friendly and helpful. We were told we would go to another village rather than Ping'an because of the crowds which we much preferred because it meant we could explore this one (however we did not see a long hair show).

We took the private 21 day Panorama tour for two, and it was above an beyond any expectations. We've got absolutely impeccable service - the guides / drivers were never late, even for a second - they were expecting us at the airports, train stations, hotel lobbies, always ready to take care of us. All the hotels were great, with very ample buffet breakfast included. Cars were nice and comfortable, equipped with A/C, and bottled water was always there for us. Great itineraries too, with Tibet included - a lot of incredible sightseeing - never were disappointed. Couple tips: 1.Tibet was a bit tough due to high altitude - if we knew, we'd ask for the room with oxygen - they are about $40-50 more per night, but totally worth it. 2.There is optional ERA show in Shanghai, but if you want to see it, you need to book it at least 2 months in advance. We didn't know, so we had to miss it. 3.I'd recommend you take some toilet paper with you, when you head for excursions.

My husband and I booked a two week private tour of China with Top China Travel. It was an excellent experience. Vicky, a tour consultant, offered us a very good program visiting Beijing, Xian, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai and Nanjing. We really enjoyed every location. The tour guides were knowledgeable and helpful. In Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing me made our own hotel reservation and in Xian an Zhangjiajie TCT made the reservations for us. Lunch was included in the tour and the selection of the restaurants was excellent in most locations (except Xian). Overall great tour!

We had our family reunion 2017 in China, visiting Beijing, Xi’an and Chendge. Sophie was excellent and instrumental in helping us with the planning, she spent months organising and arranging. Her response was always prompt, helpful, and detailed while responding to our enquiries. We had Mr. Li in Xi’an as our guide who was phenomenal, he is very proficient in his English and knowledgeable of the city of Xian and Chinese history. Even though lunch was not included in our itinerary, Mr Li accompanied us to restaurants. In Beijing, initially we had Mr Leo who was energetic & caring, but was unable to deliver. From the second day for Beijing & Chengde we had Mr Mike as our guide who was professional. We were travelling with senior citizens & kids and all guides were extremely accommodating. I highly recommend TCT to anyone planning a trip to China. Thank you Sophie, Li, Leo and Mark for the fantastic trip!!

Our family, along with some friends (eight of us in total), recently traveled to China using Top China Travel (TCT) as our travel agent/tour company. We painstakingly planned the trip with TCT's Janet as our adviser and logistics planner. Janet did an exceptional job with our overall itinerary, inter-China travel, local guide selection, meal and activity planning, etc. Her attention to detail and personal touches, such as providing a surprise birthday cake for one of our fellow travelers, or providing a bottle of champagne for our Great Wall visit, made the trip special. We did a traditional tour of Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin/Yangshou, and Shanghai, and also squeezed in Zhangjiajie, which was one of the major highlights of the trip. Along with seeing/experiencing most, if not all, of the major attractions in each area, our itinerary also included a calligraphy class, a cooking class, and three entertaining shows. The schedule was quite aggressive but all of our TCT guides were very accommodating and flexible, Sometimes the crowds were extremely challenging, or sometimes we simply needed more time to eat or shop, etc, and each time, our TCT guides simply worked with us to make sure we were happy. Sean in Beijing and Lisa in Guilin/Yangshou were exceptional. We can't say enough about their friendly personalities, professionalism, knowledge, language skills, and organization. We highly recommend TCT and Janet if you're trying to make a decision on a Chinese tour company. Everything about our tour from the initial planning to the tourist site visits/activities/meals was first class, highly professional, and extremely friendly.

We generally do not use tours when we travel. In fact, I normally don't enjoy tours at all. However, given the language challenges in China, we looked at several options and eventually settled on Top China Travel. We used TCT in Beijing, Shanghai and Long Ji area. All I can say is that I was blown away by the professionalism and service of each individual guide within each city. Our guide in Beijing was extremely knowledgeable and really gave us an amazing tour of the city. In Shanghai, our children left our IPad on the plane, and the guide volunteered to go get it for us (the airport is 40 min outside of the city). The third and final guide also went far and above what was expected. She stayed with us until the end of each day and we could tell that she really had a passion for sharing the Chinese culture with us. Each city guide provided unique personalities and service and each was in it's own right amazing. Quite honestly, we were initially reluctant to use a Chinese tour operator, but we are so very glad we did. I feel like we lived in China during our two week trip, as opposed to just visiting. This experience was directly related to the exceptional service provided by TCT. I highly recommend this group!

We travelled to China for our honeymoon and selected Top China Travel as our travel partner when visiting Zhangjiajie and Guilin. From the moment we spoke to Vicky Lu (the travel advisor), we knew that TopChinaTravel was a reliable company to join. Victor, our guide in Zhangjiajie was excellent. He took us to the best spots and gave us some valuable tips in order to avoid queues and the masses. We spent 4 days in Zhangjiajie. It was raining heavily on the first day and we didn't get to see much, but Victor went out of his way and changed around the itinerary in order for us to see the attractions on other days. We really appreciated this! In Guilin we were met by another excellent guide Ms. Liu. She was very helpful and noted carefully our wants and needs. We were never met with a negative answer whenever and whatever we asked. On the whole, this was an adventour of a lifetime for both myself and my wife! We definitely recommend Top China Travel as a tour operator in China!

I first visited China in 1975, the Canton Fair and have been a regular visitor since. In late 1976 partook in a 3 week Australia China Chamber Commerce of "approved" locations, one being that of Tianjin which was near epicenter Tangshan earthquake, staying in a Russian built colossal hotel, my how China has changed! On all previous trips I had business associates assist with my travel arrangements and this Guilin experience was the first I booked. Having never been to Guilin and always wanting to visit the karst formation mountains, I was surfing and an advertisement for TCT appeared to which I responded and immediately received a positive and informative reply from Lily. Informed her that I would be visiting a number of cities in China with my son on business and from our final city of Hangzhou I would like to visit Guilin and some attractions nearby. Lily immediately came up with a 5 day private tour proposal based on 3 star hotels and including private car transportation. The deal was so appealing I did not consider any alternatives. Arrangements were made solely by internet and whilst I was travelling. When I eventually nailed down the date I was to be in Hangzhou, Lily immediately booked a soft sleeper for the train to Guilin, some 18 hours and arranged for the ticket to be delivered to the Ramada in Hangzhou. In the course of the trip with my son in cities such as Taizhou, Handan, Chongqing, Tonglu and Hangzhou we mentioned my intended solo trip to Guilin and all were amazed that I, a Caucasian foreigner not able to speak Mandarin, would be capable of having a successful trip. Well at my hotel in Hangzhou there was the rail ticket as arranged, no problems to take the new Hangzhou subway to the East Hangzhou train station and on my way, sharing my soft sleeper with 3 Mandarin speaking fellow travelers The train arrived at Guilin station precisely on time, 12.18 and outside the terminal was met by my guide for the duration of my trip, the lovely and most capable 23 year old Yu Ming. She whisked me away to see the local sites of Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill, and Fubo Hill then to book into Universal Guilin Hotel 3*, top location. Yu Ming accompanied me to one of her favourite restaurants which offered live; snake, bamboo rats, various turtle and many fish. I settled on what is known as duck bill fish which is boneless but expensive, about RMBY220 per half kilo, other dishes as little as one tenth this cost. Following day joined hoards of other travelers on a flotilla of boats meandering some 83km downstream on Li Jiang (Jiang = River). The karst mountains are spectacular and the water clear and quite rapid, particularly in shallows. Considerable activity along the river conducted mainly from 12 pole bamboo rafts made of PVC pipe! Have a RMBY20 note with you and take a photograph of the scenery around Xing Ping which appears on the note. Met three fellow travellers,Guandong residents, who heard from Yu Ming we were to ride bicycles on arrival at Yangshuo and although none spoke any English they asked to accompany us when we ride hired bicycles to the Yulong River through the Yangshuo countryside. Off we set through relatively busy traffic but soon into serene countryside, easy riding. On reaching the Yulong we( Yu Ming and myself) hire a 10 bamboo pole raft (genuine bamboo), placed our bikes on the stern with poleman, sat in a pair of chairs and drifted down the Yulong (Dragon) River, going over weirs of more than 1 metre high, meandering through beautiful scenery and karst mountains to, too soon, to land at a banyan tree said to be 1,400 years old. Off loaded bikes and before setting on way to hotel, Ai Yuan 3*, bought from local vendor, a BBQ fish similar to a sardine, which you ate ,including backbone, from the skewer. Back on our bikes to have dinner at one of many local restaurants and then to the second performance for the night of Liu Sanjie, a love story familiar to all Chinese. A cast of over 700 from the Zhuang, Miao and yao minority in a setting of 1.4 hectares ( 3.5 acres) with karst mountains in background, backlit. Spectacular colours and lights, each performance holding 3000 spectators. To avoid queues for buses and taxis we rode a motorbike, 3 up, for total of RMBY10. During breakfast I could hear bursts of staccato which, was to see later, a funeral of a father. All mourners in white and the son and daughter of the deceased father were in long whites. The crackers were exploding and vast quantities of paper money floating everywhere to be quickly cleaned up by following street sweepers. Our driver, Qin caught up with us at 8 in the morning for an early start for the Longji rice terraces and the following day a visit to the Dong minority village, Yanzhai in the Sanjiang region (three rivers). More of that elsewhere My one regret, I did not have an additional day to enjoy the serenity of the Yulong River. I have had no further contact with tour organiser Lily, all is going like clockwork, Yu Ming not only a highly knowledgeable guide but is astutely aware of her charge's preferences, who is more than three times her age. I put this awareness down to the fact that Yu Ming is not only text book tourist taught by The Guilin University of Tourism, but she had recently spent some 8 months at the Epcot Centre in Florida.
