Raylene did a wonderful job organizing our tour to meet our time constraints. She answered all questions very efficiently. Our tour guide Rocco met us at the airport and the Driver was waiting near by. I have specific dietary restrictions and the guide was extremely helpful communicating that with the restaurants. The trip was so easy and we always felt safe. My husband and I are looking forward to booking a more extended trip in the future. There is so much to see and the food is wonderful!

Just returned from two weeks of travel through China set up by Rebecca at Top China Travel. Absolutely perfect experience. In each city our guides and drivers were the best! Started in Beijing, then Xian, Yangtze River Cruise, Wuhan and Shanghai. In each city a university educated tour guide was waiting for us full of local history and information. Additional evening attractions like Beijing Opera and Tang Dynasty Show were perfect. She set up a cooking lesson for us with a private family in Beijing that was the best. Each and every one of our requests were honored and planned specifically for us. A special trip to Wuhan, off the normal tourist path was delightful. We finished the trip with a visit to Shanghai Disney. So thankful to this organization for the trip of a lifetime.

My sister and I were looking for an independent tour to China and Tibet and after writing to three different agencies with our proposed route and activities we decided to go with TCT travel. Why TCT? Daniel Mo, our contact person responded quickly to every email that we sent. He was both professional and friendly. An excellent travel agent! The planning was personal. If we didn’t like a proposed hotel or tour, he came up with something better. He made recommendations about sights worth seeing and places worth skipping. Nothing was too much to ask; he wanted us to be satisfied. The other two agencies were more inclined to offer standard hotels and tours. The bank transfers were efficient. There was no hassle with money. Our route: Beijing, Lhasa, Xian, Guilin-Yangshou, Shanghai, a total of 17 days in October. Seeing Tibet was to be the highlight of our trip. Daniel arranged the Tibet permit, a hotel in the center of Lhasa and a local Tibetan guide who was truly amazing. If you have the time and are not frightened off by the high altitude (you must take medicine), go to Tibet!! That being said, our entire China-Tibet trip was fantastic. We enjoyed everything that we did, all of our tours. The hotels had excellent locations (extremely important). Our guides were wonderful and did everything they could to make things run smoothly. They all met us at the airport(s) upon arrival and assisted us at departure. They accompanied us everywhere organizing and translating and of course supplying us with information at all of the tour sights. They ordered our lunches based on what we like to eat (my sister is a vegetarian). We were never herded around like a tour group. The approach was personal and flexible. All of our transportation was arranged perfectly by Daniel/TCT; flights, trains, vans, cars, boats, bicycles and rickshaws. We could not have asked for a better introduction to China and I would certainly recommend TCT to anyone who wishes to travel independently. From the planning phase to the actual execution; excellent!

We recently returned from a 16 day tour of China. Our holiday was organised by Rebecca Wei who was a pleasure to deal with. We arrived in Beijing and departed from Shanghai. There was lots to organise as we had two internal flights and three train journeys as well as three nights on a boat cruising the Yangtze river. All the arrangments fell into place like clockwork, our guides were excellent, spoke very good english and had a good knowledge of the places we visited. We saw some fantastic sights but some of the highlights for us were The Great Wall, The Yungang Grottoes, The Hanging Temple Datong, The terrracotta warriors and the muslim quarter in Xiang and the cruise on the Yangtze. We travelled in September so the temperatures were around 28C [ fine for us as we live in Durban] it is also a good time as the lines to get enterance to some places were very short. There was a lot of walking involved so comfortable walking shoes are a must as well as a sun hat. We stayed in a couple of "traditional" hotels which we loved and then some very upmarket hotels. The exception was the hotel in Xiang which scored 100% on location but had some very unfriendly staff a poor restaurant as well as putting us in an unrenovated room for the first night. We moved to the renovated floors for the other night which was much better. I should add here that this was a mistake by the hotel not TCT] My one regret is that we should have stayed a night in Wuzhen Water Town but that really was not practical as we had to leave our hotel in Shanghai at 4 in the morning to catch the flight home. We have some wondefull memories so thank you Rebecca and TCT for organizing a really interesting holiday Andrew and Anne B, DurbanSouth Africa

We chose TCT for an 13day/12 night private guided tour trip through Beijing, Hefei, and Shanghai. Lily helped us plan and finalize the itinerary for our trip via email andwas very accommodating and helpful during the entire process. She also kept in contact with us throughout the trip to make sure that everything went smoothly and to our satisfaction. For the city guides, we had Ms Grace in Beijing, Alvin in Hefei, and Rooney in Shanghai. Each of our guides were helpful and informative and made sure that our needs were met along the way, and all of them were flexible with any last-minute requests or issues that came up. Special mention also for our drivers in Beijing and Shanghai who always made sure that we had water and that we got to our destinations on time regardless of the traffic situation. Our trip overall was very action-packed and we were able to see almost everything planned on our schedule including some last-minute inserted locations which was a plus. We had a great time visiting on our first trip to China, and would recommend TCT for anyone looking to looking to plan their own trip there.

We are from Argentina. We have just returned from China where we used TCT services. From the very beginning Janet has been extremely kind and attentive. We have interchanged lots of mails with her, trying to arrange the trip, and she always answered them with the same kindness and responsibility. Our drivers and guides, Liu and Enrique in Beijing, and Angela and her driver in Xi'an have been really WONDERFUL !! Every detail has been perfect. They did every single item they had promised. As it was our wedding anniversary we have been received with flowers and heart chocolates !! Our experience with Top China and especially with Janet, couldn't have been better. For us, their service has been EXCELLENT or even more !!!! Thanks a lot Janet and staff of guides and drivers for making our trip so wonderful !! THANK YOU,THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!! Nos fue maravillosamente bien con Top China Travel. Janet super amable y bien predispuesta para ayudarnos a tener un viaje de ensueño. Nos han cumplido con todo lo prometido y aún más. My wife had travelled to China before but it was my first time. We had a limit of 2 weeks and Top China Travel's 13-day Dreamy Plateau ticked the box for duration and interesting stops, including Beijing, Xian (Terracota Army), Lhasa (Tibet), Chengdu (pandas!) and Shanghai. This was a private tour, that is to say that for each destination we were met by a guide, driver and car at each arrival airport/station and they were ours exclusively for the duration of our stay in that location. The tour was well organised by Janet Chan at TCT and we had the option of hooking up with a small group tour for the Tibet stop and saving about $200 on the overall cost, which we elected to do. The guides were all knowledgeable and very good English speakers. Drivers seemed to err on the side of safety (and that is fine by me!) and cars were all in excellent condition. As mentioned, this is a private tour so, although there is only 2 or 3 days per location, with a dedicated guide and car, a lot can be fitted into that time. In summary, the tour delivered what we wanted. I may never get back to China but I have seen as many of the sights I could have hoped for in the time I had available. And did so in some comfort. If this tour features the sights that you want to see and it fits your budget I would thoroughly recommend it.

My wife and I have just finished spending 9 nights with top China travel and I must say they exceeded every expectation we had. The tour guides were well spoken and very knowledgeable of their area. The drivers were very safe and cautious amongst what I would believe to be the worst drivers I have ever seen. Janet, who organised our tour was very good, and everything happened on time and as promised. I was a bit of a special needs customer due to being on crutches and Janet went out of her way to ensure that I was not taken anywhere that I wasn't able to access without too much difficulty, whilst still getting me to all attractions. Best of all, we were left waiting anywhere, they were always on time as promised. We found this very comforting, WELL DONE TO THE TCT TEAM. Shaun and Janene O'Brien, Melbourne Australia

Tour developer Yocky and tour guide Leo did a great job introducing me to these 2 cities. I loved the Acrobatic Show and also the night boat ride on the Huangpu. The skyline of Shanghai is a riot of color and movement at night! And the gardens! Leo's English was very clear and easy to understand. I also appreciated his willingness to "open up" and tell me a little bit about his family, his life, his history, his routine. I would recommend a private tour with a guide and driver and if you're in Shanghai ask for Leo to be your guide!

We were driven to the mountain where the terraced fields were found by Ocean and his driver. When we arrived, the weather was threatening and then the rain came. Fortunately, there is a fix; the sedan carriers volunteered to carry us up the steps to our hotel for a reasonable price each (420 Yuan total, about $70). It was fun, we stayed dry and off the uneven steps in pouring rain. The Ping An Hotel was fine, although beds were a bit hard. View of terraced fields was awe-inspiring in every way!!! We got pictures on our balcony and at a spot Ocean recommended. We returned to Guilin the next morning. We thank Top China Travel for a wonderful tour.
