A family-friendly park to see all kinds of animals
Shenzhen Wild Life Zoo is located on the eastern bank of the beautiful Xili Lake, in the north side of Shenzhen city. It is adjacent to the northern shore of Mirs Bay, Shenzhen Kylin Villa and University City. This zoo covers an area of 1.2 square kilometers, with a total investment 250 million yuan. On September 28, 1993, it was officially opened to the public. It is the first zoo that uncages animals in China and combines animals, forests, plants, science and many other features and viewing capabilities as one of the scenic gardens and subtropical environment .
There is more than 300 varieties of and more than ten thousand of heads of wildlife animals from all over the world in the zoo, including many rare animals and some first-class and second-class protected animals of China. A variety of rare birds and animals move freely in the corresponding natural ecological environment, lives and breeds. On February 6, 2013, the two giant pandas was sent to the zoo.
The entire zoo is divided into three regions, namely herbivores area, beast animal area and performance area (pedestrian zone). There are giraffes, flamingos, zebras, kangaroos, camels, hippopotamuses, swans, pandas and other vegetarians. The largest swan lake in China is located here. In beast animal area, there are white tigers (Bengal tigers), North China tigers (Siberian tigers), South China tigers, bears, wolves, lions and cheetahs. They all live a humorous life in the zoo. As for the performance area, wonderful performances are present to the guests. The zoo holds about ten animal performances in the four animal performance halls, that is, the Sea lion Performance Hall, the Elephants and Tigers Show Hall, the Circus Hall and the Birds Performance Hall. It is a perfect place to come with families.
Herbivore Area: This area is home to a variety of herbivores, including giraffes, zebras, alpacas, and elephants. There are also some sub - areas like the Panda Manor, Kangaroo Garden, Peacock Garden, and Swan Lake. You can buy feed on - site to have close contact with the animals. Science Museum Exhibition Hall: It displays nearly 600 living photos of rare animals in China and more than 400 animal specimens of birds and insects. There are two large - screen touch - screens in the hall, which show animal encyclopedias through videos, animations and pictures.
