Shenzhen Lianhuashan Park is the largest and most famous park in the city, covering an area of 150 hectares. It often appears in the top ten must-do things for a city as listed by travel consultants and is usually one of the first places that any tourist or new resident visits when they come to the city. This is due to its convenient central location, rich greenery, peaceful natural environment and beautiful flora and fauna. Some of the scenic spots here include the Kite Square and the Peach Grove. It also offers an observation deck from which you can see the Civic Center and the Shenzhen City Center below, which requires a short walk.

It's very easy to reach the top of the mountain, and it takes about 15 minutes on foot. You can reach here via multiple paths. Just "look up" and you'll get there. Shenzhen, China. 【Peak Square】
There is a square that covers an area of 4,000 square meters on the main Peak of the park. It is currently the highest outdoor plaza in the city of Shenzhen. It is the best place to overlook the downtown area of this city. In the north of square, there is a 300-square-meter City Planning Exhibition Hall. This hall is good location for the general public and visitors to understand the history of Shenzhen Urban Construction, to understand urban planning and the future development of this metropolis.
 

【Rainforest Valley】

 Located in the western part of the park, it is shaded by trees and has a gurgling stream. It is suitable for walking and taking photos, with a quiet environment.
 

【Xiaofeng Yangri (Artificial Lake)】

The lake is quiet, and you can watch water lilies and black swans, which is suitable for leisure and relaxation.


Summit Square (Deng Xiaoping Statue)
It is the highest point of Lianhua Hill. The bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping stands here, which is one of the symbolic landscapes of Shenzhen. The view is excellent, and you can overlook the city landmarks such as the Civic Center, Ping An Finance Center, and Shenzhen Library.

【Kite Square】
It is a large lawn near the South Gate of the park. People often fly kites here all year round. It is suitable for picnics and parent-child activities. There are often cultural activities such as markets and music performances on weekends.

【Peach Grove】
In spring every year, there are more than 2,000 strains of peach blooming in the park, which attracts numerous local people and outside visitors to take pictures.

 

How to Get There

  • Subway:
    • Take Line 3/4 to "Children's Palace Station" and exit from F1 (South Gate, the main entrance).
    • Take Line 2 to "Lianhua West Station" and exit from A (West Gate).
    • Take Line 3 to "Lianhua Village Station" and exit from D (Northeast Gate).
  • Bus: You can get off at Guan Shanyue Art Museum Station, Lianhua Hill Park Station, Children's Palace Station, etc.
  • Self-driving: There are parking lots at the South Gate and West Gate of the park, but parking spaces are tight on weekends. It is recommended to travel by subway. 
     

Recommended Routes

Easy Sightseeing Route (1-2 hours)

Suitable for tourists who want to punch in, family outings, and those with limited time. The route is: South Gate Entrance → Kite Square → Summit Square (Deng Xiaoping Statue) → Return to the South Gate. The slope along the way is gentle, and after reaching the top, you can overlook the panoramic view of Futian CBD, which is suitable for taking photos.
 

In-depth Hiking Route (2-3 hours)

Suitable for tourists who like hiking and want to explore the whole park. The route is: West Gate Entrance → Rainforest Valley → Summit Square → Kite Square → South Gate Exit. You can enjoy the streams and green plants, feel the natural atmosphere, and it is suitable for slow walking and relaxation.
 

Night View Sightseeing Route (evening-night)

Suitable for tourists who want to enjoy the night view of Shenzhen. The route is: South Gate Entrance → Hike to Summit Square → Watch the night view of Futian CBD → Go down the mountain. It is recommended to climb the mountain before sunset to see both the sunset and the spectacular scene of the city lights turning on.
 

Tips

  1. Wear comfortable sports shoes, as it takes about 20-30 minutes to climb the mountain.
  2. Bring a sun hat and sunglasses, as some sections are not shaded.
  3. You can bring a picnic mat and a kite (kites can be purchased or rented at Kite Square).
  4. Bicycling is prohibited in the park (only walking is allowed).
  5. It is recommended to go Mountain climbing in groups at night, as the lighting in some sections is dim.
  6. Barbecue and tent pitching are prohibited (you can have a picnic, but you need to clean up the garbage).
