Bayi Food Street (八一路好吃街): Located at No.174 Bayi Road within the Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, this food street gathers hundreds of Chongqing snacks. Expanded into the pedestrian area in 2000, it is highly recommended to try specialties like Sour and Spicy Noodles (酸辣粉), Shancheng Sweet Dumplings (山城小汤圆), and Crispy Pork (鬼酥肉) for an authentic Chongqing flavor.
WFC Global Financial Center Observation Deck: Situated at 188 Minzu Road, floors 73–75 of Chongqing World Financial Center, this deck stands at 339 meters above sea level. It is one of the highest open-air observation decks in China, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, Jiefangbei CBD, and Hongya Cave. Known as the “Top of Chongqing.”
Daijiaxiang Cliffside Walkway (戴家巷崖壁步道): About a 15-minute walk from Kuixinglou Parking Lot. At night, the illuminated cliffs and river views create a stunning atmosphere. It is an excellent alternative viewpoint to avoid the crowds at Hongya Cave.
Hongya Cave (洪崖洞): Another must-visit landmark of Chongqing, located at Cangbai Road in Yuzhong District near the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. This riverside complex combines sightseeing, leisure, and shopping, and is famous for its stilted house architecture and dazzling night views.
Shibati (十八梯): Located at No.1 Zhongxing Road in Yuzhong District, this area preserves Chongqing’s traditional elements such as stilted houses, banyan trees, and stone-paved streets. It blends old architecture with modern commercial spaces, forming four themed zones. At night, the illuminated steps look like jewels embedded in the hillside, making it one of the best viewpoints over Yuzhong Peninsula.
Chongqing Huguang Guild Hall (湖广会馆): Only about 1.5 km from Liberation Stele, visitors can reach it by a 10-minute walk or by taking Metro Line 1 to Xiaoshizi Station (Exit 8). As the largest existing guild hall complex from the Qing Dynasty in Chongqing, it features exquisite wood and stone carvings. With intangible cultural heritage performances and well-preserved architecture, it is a must-see for history and culture enthusiasts.
