Do I need a visa to travel to China? If yes, how long does it take to get it?

Yes, you need a visa to travel to mainland China. All non-Chinese nationals need a Chinese Visa to enter China. The travellers are responsible for all visas, entry documents, health and any other documents required by laws, regulations or orders of countries visited. According to the Laws of the People's Republic of China, on entry and exit of the P R China, foreign tourists must apply for visas at China's foreign affairs offices, consulates or other organizations authorized by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Followings are all the conditions for compliance.

The time it takes to apply for China visa depends on different countries and district. If you can offer all the neccesary documents at one time, it would not take more than 7 days to ge the visa. As for what  neccesary documents, you should contact with the China's foreign affairs offices, consulates or other organizations authorized by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
