We found this company on the internet in New Zealand and booked a 9 day trip through Rebecca who is based at Guilin. We wanted to see scenery and had thought of a small group tour. Athough it was more expensive, it worked out better having a guide of our own.

The guides we had were all very different but excellent and we were always met on time which was great, as it was our first trip to China. They all had excellent English and a good general knowledge, as we asked all sorts of questions. The young girl who picked us up and dropped us at the Maglev did struggle with English but this was our last day, so was not a problem. The hotels were all excellent and we would have had no idea what to book especially in Shanghai. The only exception was The Holiday Inn Jasmine in Suzhou but this was made up for by the Zhejiang Hotel in Hangzhou being outstanding. The lunches were all good and the hotel breakfasts were excellent.

I have reviewed all the activities individually on Trip Advisor and it made me realise how much we fitted in. This would not have been possible if we had tried to do this on our own especially going up Yellow mountain. Can't imagine doing that without a guide and driver. We loved the bullet trains and Julia came in and showed us how it worked so it was easy after that.

We probably should have used the bullet train to get to Suzhou, as the traffic on a Sunday was a nightmare. Things got a bit rushed with traffic problems so maybe make some adjustments so you are not on the motorway at peak times. We didn't ask for ideas about what to do on free nights but probably should have.

Having our own guide meant they had the flexibility to change things around a bit, as it needed be adapted to local conditions. China is not cheap and tipping is not something we are used to in NZ but you just have to add that on.Thank you Chris, Julia, Gerry and Tony. You were great.
