Silk Road
The world-know Silk Road across the Eurasian Continent is a friendship bridge linking the Europe and Asian people. It is one of the most important theme tourist routes in the world and the most valuable tourist product in China. Started from today’s Xi’an and extend to the Central and West Asia and finally to the east bank of the Mediterranean. Silk Road with its 2,000 years history has witnessed the historical changes and the progress of cultural exchanges between China and the Western countries.
Along the section in China, many historical and cultural sites are linked as a chain of pearls, such as the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, the Qinghai Lake in Xining, the Heaven Lake in Urumqi, the Gaochang Ancient City in Turpan, etc. And also, the section in China included many ethnic cultures is also as a jade belt. The peoples of these ethnic groups such as Mongolians, Huis, Uygurs, Hazaks have maintained their unique traditions and cultures, living habits and religious beliefs, which constite the soul of the Silk Road and attract many tourists to visit.Silk Road History
