More than 3,700 terraces resemble a ladder, reaching the sky. As the sun sets, the terraces change colors constantly, firstly they are pink, and then turn to red, later to white.

Laohuzui Scenic Area

Laohuzui Scenic Area is said to have the most spectacular layout, the steepest terrain and the largest area among all rice terraces in Yuanyang. Laohuzui Scenic Area is located in the core area of Yuanyang Rice Terraces. It got its name because of a stone protruding from the nearby cliff, which looks like the mouth of a tiger. The rice terraces there are scattered among the deep valleys. More than 3,000 acres of terraces have different shapes winding around the slopes.
