There are buses available from Ruili to Dali, which stop at Dali Bus Station. The distance is about 400 km, and it takes several hours. If you drive car, it would take about 5.3 hours.  The bus fare would be about 140 yuan.

For getting to Dali from Ruili, you could take bus to Kunming then take train from Kunming to Dalin.
