Can I purchase alcohol in New Zealand Duty-Free as an example 2 litres of scotch , and then fly to Bejing and then fly domestically in China to a different location with my Duty Free purchase on a China domestic flight?

Thanks for the message you left to us.

Please kindly be advised that it is possible to bring liquor (not carry-on baggage, but checked baggage) which travelers buy in Duty-Free to China, but there are some restrictions.

  • Duty-free alcoholic beverages above 12% : 2 bottles (up to 1.5 liters)--- If bring over this account, travelers will need to declare and pay the duty, generally 60% of the products Value ( for the excess)

 

When you travel in China by plan, it is possible to bring liquor as a checked baggage.

  • Less than 24% (including 24%) alcohol with no capacity limitation
  • Between 25% (incl. 25%) and 70% (incl. 70%) alcohol within 5 liters capacity limitation
  • More than 70% alcohol could not be brought on the airplane

 

When you travel in China by high speed train, it is also possible to bring liquor.

  • Between 25% (incl. 25%) and 70% (incl. 70%) alcohol within 3 liters capacity limitation

 

NOTE:

  1. Alcohol in bulk cannot be carried
  2. It should be fully packaged, labeled and unopened liquor
