At present we are looking at hotels in China, and noted that major agencies are Ctrip and elong. What are the advantages or disadvantages using Ctrip.

1. Both are online booking agency with hotels, air tickets(including international air ticket), and train tickets in China.
Both allows online booking with credit cards. And they are similar in regard to faxing your credit card/passport details to them and surcharge for international credit card.
2. Generally Ctrip reservation have time limit, over reservation time (usually around 3 hours after you arrive in the city) will be canceled, but too late or with less room it will need credit card to guarantee. If you don’t go to the hotel in time, the guaranteed money will be charged from your credit card, therefore I suggest you have better confirm schedule and then make a decision.
