If I want to stay in China more than 30 days, what should I do?

Singaporean citizens intending to stay in China for more than 30 days should apply for the visa in advance at the Chinese embassies or consulates in your countries.

  • A passport with at least 6 months’ validity and blank pages
  • Photocopy of the passport’s data page and the passport’s photo page

  • Air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation/ an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China(if you plan to stay at the home of a friend or relative during your trip to China)

Submit Your Visa Application to the Visa Center

After preparing the documents needed to apply for the Chinese visa in Singapore, you can submit the application in person or entrust a third party to submit it on your behalf. At the Chinese Visa Application Center, you can see the following procedures to finish your Chinese visa application:
 

  • take a number on the number dispenser and wait patiently
  • when your number is called, submit the application to the corresponding window
  • After your application is accepted, the staff will give you a bill with your application information and the expected date to get your China visa
     

Please carefully check all the contents on the evidence collection form. If you have any doubts, please ask the staff of the visa center in time. When you get your passport back, you must show the bill. Please keep it properly.

 

When to Submit My Chinese Visa Application

It is suggested that you apply for a visa one month in advance, but not earlier than three months. If you apply for the Chinese visa too early, your visa might be expired before your entry. If you apply for the Chinese visa too late, you may not complete your visa application.

Do I need to make an appointment in advance to submit the application?

In order to avoid waiting for a long time, it is suggested that you make an appointment online before submitting your application to the visa center. Usually, the peak period of application occurs between 10 am and 1 pm. Please try to avoid the rush hour to reduce the waiting time. When you arrive at the visa center, please show the reservation form or tell the staff of your name and get the queuing number. When your number is called, please submit your application at the corresponding window. Please note that submitting an application to the visa center without an appointment may make you wait for a long time.
