Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, is regarded as leisure paradise in China, famous for giant panda, Sichuan gourmet, and Kuan Zhai Alley. Leshan is in the south of Chengdu, about 140 km from Chengdu, with 2 hours driving. Highlights of Leshan are Leshan Giant Buddha and Bo Bo Chicken. Leshan Giant Buddh, a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage, is a stone Buddha sculpture carved from a mountain standing along Min River(Min Jiang). Leshan Giant Buddha is the biggest stone carving of Buddha in China with a height of 71 meters.

Emei is in the west of Leshan and south of Chengdu, about 160 km from Chengdu. Emei is close to Leshan, and tourists usually go see Leshan Giant Budda and Mount Emei together.
Don't miss: Mount Emei. Emei mountain is a sacred mountain of Buddhism, high and steep, with spectacular natural scenery. Buddhism culture is an important part of Mount Emei, reflected Buddhism buildings like temples, paintings, etc, with ancient sites like Baoguo Temple.

Ganzi or Garze is in the west of Chengdu and Ya’an, and it is a less-trodden destination in China with gorgeous natural scenery, unpolluted and tranquil. Garze is famous for its plateau scenery, crystal lakes, colorful forests and majestic snow mountains. Its original highland scenery and rough roads are attractive to hikers and adventurers. Kangding is the capital of Garze, and it is usually the first stop travelling to Garze. Flight to Kangding, then bus to other attractions.
Don't miss: Hailuogou Scenic Area, Daocheng Yading, and Mount Gongga. They are renown attractions in Garze. But please pay attention to altitude sickness, because Garze has an average altitude of over 3,500 meters.
Aba lies in the northwest of Chengdu and the north east of Garze, and well known to people for Jiuzhai Valley, Huanglong Scenic Area and Siguniangshan National Park. Beautiful natural scenery, pure countryside, and minority village are all attractive to people enjoying rustic life.

Sichuan food is renown for spicy, and peppers are putted in almost every dish people eat, especially in Sichuan hot pot. Szechuan sauce, Szechuan peppercorn and Pixian doubanjiang are popular condiments, and used to improve flavor.

♦ Mapo Toufu is a classic dish of Szechuan gourmet, with enormous fans in the world. Mapo Toufu is an easy-made dish, and everyone could make a Mapo Toufu dish. Mapo Toufu ingredient: toufu, and ground beef(or minced pork meat).
Mapo Toufu condiment: Sichuan peppercorn, pepper, doubanjiang, minced garlic, minced ginger, and chopped green onion.

♦ Sichuan hot pot. Chinese people like to eat hot pot, especially in winter. In China, three style of hot pot are very popular, Beijing hot pot, Sichuan hot pot and Chongqing hot pot. Sichuan hot pot is somewhat like Chongqing hot pot. The most important of Sichuan hot pot is the soup in hot pot, which will give eaters wonderful flavor. Except the soup, there are various of dishes prepared for eaters, including meats, vegetable, and noodles.
Most popular dishes to locals for Sichuan hot pot are cattle tripe, beef slices, duck intestine, and crispy meat. For those dishes, you could order what you want. But remember Sichuan hot pot is really spicy.
♦ Sichuan style chicken is a cold dish of chicken and chicken meat is in shreds. With various condiments, chicken could have different flavors.
