Wuyuan Highlights & Sightseeing Routes
Wuyuan location. Wuyuan is located at Shangrao, Jiangxi Province, and it is adjacent to Jingdezhen and Huangshan. It is about 260 km from Nanchang, 80 km from Jingdezhen, 130 km from Huangshan, and 470 km from Shanghai. Wuyuan has 2 bus stations and 1 railway station for the public.
► Get to Wuyuan from Huangshan
By train. Tourists could take high speed train at Huangshan North Railway Station to Wuyuan Railway Station, which takes 21 min, and costs 35 yuan for a second class seat. Trains are available from 09: 30 AM to 6:19 PM, every 12-60 min.
► Get to Wuyuan from Shanghai
By train. Tourists could take highspeed train at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Wuyuan Railway Station, and it takes about 3 hours and costs 227.5 yuan for a second class seat and 371 yuan for a first class seat. Trains are available at 08:42 AM, 5:45 PM, 7:06 PM. Moreover, tourist would take fast train at Shanghai South Railway Station.
► Get to Wuyuan from Jingdezhen
By train. From Jingdezhen to Wuyuan, there are many high speed trains and fast trains available to passengers from 7:25 AM 9: 39 PM. The high speed train takes about 26 min, and costs 24 yuan for a second class seat and 37 yuan for a first class seat.
Wuyuan is a big attraction, covering the whole Wuyuan county, and a popular destination for leisure tour and natural sightseeing. Wuyuan covers an area of 2.967 km, and most parts of Wuyuan are mountains, with few lands. Toursits could hang around most parts of Wuyuan for free, but in Wuyuan there are 12 scenic spots which charge a through entrance ticket to tourists.
► Three things important to Wuyuan are villages, mountains, and fields, which are melted together and in a great harmony. Wuyuan is famous for its beautiful natural sightseeing and village views, regarded as Most Beautiful Village in China”, where you see the beauty of Wuyuan in blue sky, green mountains, clear water, small bridges, flowing water, people, whitewashed walls, green bricks, and black tiles. Villages in Wuyuan are built in Hui Style, with features of whitewashed walls, and black tiles, which are much different from buildings you have seen before. Fields link with mountains, planted with lots of rapeseed flowers. In spring, these vast lands of rapeseed flowers are so stunning that tremendous tourists would like to come for photography.
► Best time to visit Wuyuan: from March to November, especaill March, April, and November.
► Open time: 7:30 AM-6:30 PM for the 12 scenic spots, and all day for the rest.
► Entrance ticket: 180 yuan, a through ticket for the 12 scenic spots. Tourists could also buy tickets for each scenic spots.
► The highlights of Wuyuan are Huangling and the 12 scenic spots, Li Keng, Wangkou, Xiaoqi, Caihong Bridge (Rainbow Bridge), Sixiyan Village, Jiangwan, Wolong Valley, Lingyan Cave, Yantian, Shicheng, and Jiangling.
Huangling. It is the most popular scenic spot in Wuyuan, where tourists could visit the traditional buildings of Hui Style, see rapeseed flowers and the special view of basking crops in Autumn. Ticket for Huangling is 145 yuan, including the entrance ticket and the ticket for cable car.
Jiangling. It is located at the northeast of Wuyuan, about 45 km from the Wuyuan county center. Jiangling is the highlight of fields and rural scenery, where tourist could see a large land of golden rapeseed flowers on the rice terraces in the spring. It is considered as one of the best places to watch rapeseed flowers in China, and has 4 observation decks for sightseeing. Tourists could also have a hiking in there, watch flowers, and hang around in villages.
Likeng. Likeng is an ancient village of Li Family, and most people living in there have a surname of Li. It is 12 km away from Wuyuan county center, and the closest scenic spot in the east line. In Likeng, you could see the typical buildings of Hui style, built along rivers and close to mountains and also see picturesque scenery made of bridges, rivers, houses and people. Likeng is suitable to tourists who are interested in Chinese ancient villages.
Wulong Valley. It is a scenic area of primitive forest and valley, and its highlight lies in groups of waterfalls. Wulong Valley is also a good place for hiking, and for away from summer heat.
► Sightseeing routes: Wuyuan tour has 3 sightseeing routes, the east route, the north route, and the west route. The east route is the most popular one to tourists, and it will bring you to Likeng, Wangkou, Jiangwan, Xiaoqi, Huangling, and Yueliangwan. The north line: Sixiyan Village-Caihong Bridge, Wolong Valley-Jujing Village-Shicheng-Yanling Cave. The west line: Kaoshui, Wenshan Mountian, Yuanyang Lake.
Days for Wuyuan tour: 2 days. Wuyuan is not a small attraction, and it has over 10 scenic spots scattered here and there and those scenic spots are not close to each other. For travelling in Wuyuan, you could need to arrange 2-3 days, because 1 day may be not enough for sightseeing. Tourists who want to plan a trip to Wuyuan should make the tour itinerary and tour routes ahead of time.
Sightseeing ways: charter a car or take bus. The convenient way to travelling in Wuyuan is to charter a car, which will bring you from one scenic spot to another. Tourists could also take bus at Wuyuan North Bus Station from Wuyuan county center to each scenic spot, saving some money but costing more time.
Given that most tourists would go to Wuyuan by train from Huangshan or Shanghai and have some luggage, you should book a hotel at Wuyuan county center, check in and have some rest before Wuyuan Tour. Here we make this suggested 2 days tour itinerary as the following.
