The 8 of us just returned from an amazing trip to Beijing, Xi’an, Lhasa, Chengdu and Shanghai. I must admit we were a bit nervous, organizing the trip from afar. However Lily Li from TCT was in constant communication with me, answering all my queries with professionalism. We had exceptional tour guides and drivers all the way. The service ran like clockwork yet allowed flexibility in what we wanted. We are thrilled with our experience and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who are looking for small group tour, flexibility and good value for money. Thank you Lily from TCT.

This is a must to do when you are in Beijing. It's not crowded with tourists. The The food is good but the same of all tours in China. The guide was friendly but his English was very bad, sometimes you couldn't understand a thing what he said. The communication with the company was good.

Both my husband and me booked a 8 Days tour self designed, no shopping China tour with TCT in Nov 2018. Yocky is the best consultant that I have worked with. She is so responsive and patient with all my request from the planning stage to the end of the tour. I was so impressed with Yocky answering my message even at 6am in the morning due to flight delay. We are so thankful that she had always tried her best to help and take action with some unhappiness with hotels and other issues. Without hesitation, I would strongly recommend TCT to everyone interested to tour China.

My wife and I chose TCT to plan a two week private tour of China for us and we are very glad that we did. Yocky, our travel planner, was excellent and everything worked out exactly as she had told us it would. The guides were well chosen and by and large spoke quite passable English. The younger ones sometimes tended to try and cram too much to do in one day for an older couple, but they were very flexible and quite willing to make minor alterations to our set progamme on our request. All in all, I would recommend TCT to anyone who wants an in depth look at China and its people.

Vicky Lu of TCT was great! She always replied to my emails quickly and fully answered all our questions, which we found really helpful and efficient. She took the time to understand what we liked and wanted to do, and our budget, and designed an amazing 2 week holiday with private tours of 3 fantastic places: Zhangjiajie (absolutely amazing!!!!), Guilin (beautiful and fun) and Xi'an (Terracotta Warriors are an absolute MUST, plus cycling on the Ancient Wall into the evening, and the thrill of Mt Huashan). It was all so easy, no fuss and no wasted time, with friendly English-speaking guides waiting for us on arrival and smoothing the way for hotel check-ins, getting tickets, and entries to the parks and attractions. It was all professional and just right, no rushing us on, no shopping/factory stops, no bus-loads of people to always be waiting on, etc... The TCT tour was professionally organised and was excellent. From chatting with other travellers at brekky and seeing the masses of local and overseas tourists at all the attractions, without our TCT guides we would have spent a HUGE amount of time getting there, getting tickets and lining up for everything, and spending crazy amounts of time communicating through phone translation apps (generally there are very few English speakers). We reckon that with our TCT guides we got AT LEAST twice as much time everywhere we wanted to be, with private drivers taking us straight from place to place with no waiting, the guides getting us in everywhere with minimal delays, and taking us straight to nice nearby restaurants for good lunches (included in the tour price), giving us maximum quality time enjoying ourselves in nice places. So we can totally recommend TCT and Vicky Lu.. great job, reliable, no hassles, and thanks very much for an exceptional China tour Vicky!!

Recently, we joint a group tour organized by TCT. We had a excellent experience for the whole tour including the booking process. Here are some highlights. Tour booking I found TCT from the web with very positive reviews. I decided to book my China tour with them. Now, I am glad that I made right choice. TCT assigned a very experienced tour consultant, Raylene He, to work with me. Due to various reasons, we changed our tour plan a few times including changing starting date, hotels, the tour routes etc. Raylene was very patient to work with me to make sure every planned details were met our needs. She was also very responsive in answer my queries. Our family would like to give her a big THANKS. Hotels Best Location: Beijing, Guilin Very convenient. This allowed us to do more sightseeing by walking in the evening. Hotel room: the best hotel rooms were in Xi’an. They were a very spacious full suites. It was a welcome surprise. Breakfast: most of us like Beijing better. I personally like both Beijing and Xi’an. This is because of the preference of the types of food. Tour guide Tour guide in Beijing stayed with us one day longer so we got to know her better. We felt that she provided very good service. Tour guide in Shanghai was more knowledgeable. He provided different perspectives to various topics. His explanation/opinion made the tour more interesting. In general, all tour guides were very professional and made their best effort to make the tour run smoothly. Because traffic jams are common in China, they constantly discussed routes with drivers to pick the best route and drop off locations. Drivers: Drivers were very cooperative. We had an emergency in Guilin. One of us needed to go to washroom right away. Since it was rush hour and the traffic was very heavy, the bus could not stop anywhere, the Guide and the Driver found a hospital with washroom on the way and dropped us off. We wee appreciate it very much. We also noticed that the drivers were very conscious in helping TCT to save money. For example selecting a parking location in a free of charge location instead of a paid parking lot. Flexible route arrangement We joined a group tour. This group tour went to Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, Guilin and Hong Kong as advertised. Our tour group started with four families. After the tour in Xi’an, One family left the group for Guilin and Yangtze River cruise. In Shanghai, the rest of us merged into another group. After Shanghai, a few families in the merged group left the group tour.. We left the group after Guilin. In general, the cost of group tour is lower. TCT allowed customer to pick and choice as you wish to fit customer’s needs. They also recommended group tour where possible to help customer to lower the cost, although this made their tour management a lot more complicated. I would like to say that TCT is an excellent tour operator compare with others. All the little efforts that employees made contributed to TCT’s success. It seems to us that TCT is a well run company. We wish TCT continued success in the future.

We had a 12 day private tour in China mainland (Beijing, Xian, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Zhangjiajie, Guilin) terminating in HK. All went well, mostly thanks to Lily, our tour organizer who was always available and sorted out any little misunderstanding that happened along the route. Also she was very patient as for months spent time with me to customize the trip in every single particular, so that I could for example pick my preferred 5star hotels and book them directly, chose activities and food. Transportation was very good, modern and clean large vehicles. Also they arranged internal bullet trains and flights. We also went to optional night show in Beijing and to the night cruise in Guilin, both were great. All guides were experienced although a couple of them did not speak perfect English, but enough. I would recommend this tour operator.

For most of us, travel to China is either a distant dream or a once in a lifetime trip. Unfortunately due to language and cultural barriers/difficulties, planning and executing such a trip is extremely difficult at best. And for those of us who do not care for group travel, but rather the freedom and flexibility of fully independent travel, travel to China represents a difficult goal. After a lot of research I thought I had a basic idea at least of where I might want to go, but since I don’t speak Mandarin or read Chinese script/hanzi, traveling independently seemed impossible – and I was traveling solo. And at 71, I’m through with hassles and dealing with problems while traveling. Not only is life too short for that, but the time you have in a country is limited and how much time do you really want to waste dealing with issues vs seeing what you came to see or experience? I had previous experience dealing with independent travel agencies in Argentina and Chile, but didn’t expect that service to be available in China for some reason. But after a bit of additional research I discovered Top China Travel (TCT) and soon after my first contact with my travel consultant Rebecca Wei, things quickly fell into place. Turns out selecting TCT, was one of the best decisions I’ve made in quite a while. I began with a base three week Highlights of China itinerary, and modified it to suit my interests and requirements, including class of hotel, sights, and additional locations. Because with TCT, there is no limit to how much you customize, nor are there additional service fees for doing so. I ended up with a 25 day package to 11 different locations, and this has to be the highlights from what I discovered and guides repeatedly told me. I will tell you this is a LOT for one trip, but based on my age, it is unlikely I will go back again, so wanted to see as much as possible this trip. My itinerary included Shanghai, Huangshan, Yellow Mountains, Hangzhou, Guilin, Changdu, Xi’an, Yangtze River Cruise, Zhangjiajie and Beijing. I specified 5 Star hotels and believe me they were that – some of the nicest hotels I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world including in the USA. But you can tailor that to your budget and requirements from three-star up. I’ve never experienced a trip so organized and well executed. It was totally flawless and hassle free. There was never a single issue or mistake. From the time I landed in Shanghai, I was met by an English speaking guide and driver (drivers Chinese speaking only), and taken to my hotel and hand held thru checking into the hotel, since everything of course was pre-paid thru TCT. Then the next morning a fully guided tour of Shanghai with evening free to myself. Additional evening activities are recommended at each location that TCT will arrange and book for you at an additional cost. I attended three while in China. Then when ready to leave Shanghai for Huangshan and the Yellow Mountains (which were stunningly beautiful and unique), I was taken to the train station and accompanied by the guide thru the check-in process and then I was off to Huangshan, where upon arrival I was met again and taken to the hotel with guided tours the following days. And this repeated FLAWLESSLY throughout the trip at each location. And the hand offs were quite impressive. At each location I had a new driver and guide, and they had my full itinerary of what I had done to that point and of course what I was scheduled to do and more impressively, had received a call from the previous guide advising them I was on my way. If this isn’t 5-star service, I don’t know what is. Now while this might all seem a bit too organized, I can assure it was not. There was flexibility and as a day progressed, as the guide got to know me better and felt I might enjoy more scenery vs a tea ceremony, for example, we could change that on the fly and at times did just that – within reason of course. And evenings were free. And another bonus was the experiences with the guides. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable and the drivers safe and reliable, but I learned more about life in China than I could ever have imagined doing since I developed personal relationships with the guides and the conversations were interactive and spontaneous and I had so much time with them each day. There is no way I could have accomplished or experienced this within a tour group. Words can’t express my thanks to Top China Travel and the entire ground operations including guides and drivers for making my China trip one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken. And perhaps in the next couple years I can return and see a few things I missed on this trip, or return to a special place and relax a bit more. I won’t say it would have been impossible to have planned and executed this trip without help, but I can’t imagine having done so without having the knowledge and relationships with the ground operations and so many other things. And I’ve planned and executed dozens of international trips with no assistance, but to places far easier than China or Japan. China is a fascinating and incredibly beautiful country, with scenery and culture unlike anyplace I’ve visited. Chinese people are welcoming and I felt safe everywhere I went. I highly recommend China as a travel destination and if you are looking for something similar to what I’ve experienced, I highly recommend Top China Travel. You won’t be sorry you selected them.

Our 14-day tour went great. Our online agent, Yocky, was very responsive to all the questions I had before the trip. We were met and sent off at each airport, railroad, and bus ride by local tour guides of TCT who were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and professionals. Thorough in explaining each of the places we visited and gladly took our questions and responded. The hotels we were checked-in were 4 stars as expected, clean and centrally located, clean, and served a great buffet breakfast (included). The respective tour guides effectively managed the time and arranged lunch stops close by the sites we visited thus not wasting touring time. Overall experience was great. Great value for the price of the tour. If we decide to tour other sites in China in the future I will definitely use TCT again.

Getting too touristy but still really enjoyed. I guess everywhere I go will be tourist infested. I do wish this one could have held on to its authenticity a little more rather than having so many little shopping spots with people trying to sell you their "unique" "handmade" items (which i'm not sure I believe were). But it's also very nice to learn how rice is actually done -- way up here in the mountain. I enjoyed walking all around in the beautiful weather - up and down steps, out to other terraces, through the little enclave in the middle. I enjoyed seeing how very different peoples lives can be. I enjoyed that people still kept their clothing, their methods of doing some things.

The professional service and arrangements exceeded our expectations. Although we travelled during Chinese autumn holiday and places were crowded, the tour was very pleasant and very well organized. As a Swiss living and working in China, I am very impressed by the diversity and beauty of this country. We have booked several tours with Top China Travel Guilin Tracy (Xi'an, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Huanlong, Zhangjiejie, Guilin) and everything went very smooth from the beginning to the end of our journey. The places we have visited were all super nice and people super friendly.

Our guide picked us up on time despite all the traffic of National Holiday Week and explained to us early on that her English was not great (however still enough to communicate some history of the village and the region) but she was very friendly and helpful. We were told we would go to another village rather than Ping'an because of the crowds which we much preferred because it meant we could explore this one (however we did not see a long hair show).

Top China Tour-Joyce Tang was our tour coordinator and I can only have praises for her professionalism, her attention to details, and accommodations to make our lifelong dream of visiting china a memorable experience. Joyce listened to our needs and made recommendations and tailored the tour to fit our schedule. We spent 9 days visiting Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong. The daily schedule was perfect which allowed us to see all the highlights as well as enough time to spend on our own to explore the local culture. I would not hesitate to contact Joyce for our next trip to China.
