The best time to visit in Haikou is from November to next April, because the seasons from May to October are rainy season in Haikou, from June to September are typhoon season in Haikou.

Hairui Tomb: Hairui Tomb is one of the "Eight Sceneries" of Haikou. It has become a famous place of interest known as "Yue Dong Zheng Qi" (the integrity and upright). Hairui, the famous official in Ming dynasty, was born in Qiongshan and was known as "Hai Qingtian" (which means incorruptible official). It has an area of 7.4 acre and all the architectures around this tomb form a solemn, simple and unsophisticated style. It was completely built by granites, with a round top, six-angled base, a height of 3 meters, and a reducing size from up to down, thus it looks like an ancient bell.

Five Official Temple: This temple is an attractive and intriguing Ming Dynasty construction dedicated to five officials who were banished to Hainan during the Tang Dynasty for criticism of the government in their work. Today, this is a pretty temple in a tropical setting, surrounded by ponds filled with lilies, winding bridges and exotic palm trees. The highly respected Song Dynasty poet, Su Dongpo, is also commemorated here.
