Chengdu Railway Station

Located at North Station Xiyi Road, Jinniu District, Chengdu Railway Station is the largest special class passenger station in southwest China. It is the hub connecting Baoji-Chengdu Railway, Chengdu - Chongqing Railway, Chengdu - Kunming Railway and Dazhou - Chengdu Railway. It is also the largest marshalling station in Asian

Basic Information about Chengdu North Railway Station

 

In June, 1950, Chengdu - Chongqing Railway Station began the construction. On July 1st, 1952, the railway began to operate.

 

In 1952, the Chengdu Railway Station was completed the construction.

 

In 1970, Chengdu - Kunming Railway was put into operation. Chengdu Railway Station became the first class railway station and the largest railway station in southwest China.
 

In 1971, it send 13.349 million passengers, 9.1 million tons of goods, received 12.11 million tons of goods.

 

In 1982, the old facility of the railway station was dismantled, and the new Chengdu Railway Station began construction and was put into service in 1984.

 

In 2005, the comprehensive renovation of the Chengdu Railway Station was completed. The new Chengdu Railway Station is lager and with new constructed multifunctional waiting zone.

 

Now, annual passenger volume reaches nearly 28 million person-time and  more than 70000 daily.

 

1. Set up barrier-free way and low ticket windows to convenient disabled people to buy tickets.

2. Serve free tea for old people and disable people in teahouse waiting room, and sent them to the train.

3. Brought electronic lockers for passengers to store articles.

4. Provide weather forecast to the destination cities of trains.

5. Set maternal and child, soldier waiting room.

6. Provide key services to important passengers.
