From Zhangjiajie Airport & Train Station to Tianmen Mountain & Forest Park

One of most stunning mountain destinations and resorts in China, Zhangjiajie attracts millions of travelers to enjoy the great mountain views and exciting outdoor activities every year. However, many of the travelers get confused about the transportation of Zhangjiajie attractions, due to its comparatively complicated distribution.

Here are guidance and tips for you to get around Zhangjiajie and find the best way to transfer from Zhangjiajie airport, train station and bus terminal to the major attractions.
 

From Zhangjiajie Train Station

►To Tianmen Mountain
After getting out of the train station, you can find city buses on the train station square (at the right side). Both bus No.5 and No.6 are running between Zhangjiajie city center and railway station. Take bus No.5 to get to the Tianmen Mountain ticket office, and then take the cable car up to the top. The bus fare is 1 yuan per person normally, and 2 yuan per person between 22:00pm – 06:00am.

►To National Park & Wulingyuan

For travelers who want to take bus from Zhangjiajie Train Station to national park and Wulingyuan, you should get to the bus station first (5 minutes walking from train station). There are also buses to the nearby villages, towns and attractions around Zhangjiajie.

Zhangjiajie bus station

It takes about 40 minutes from Zhangjiajie Bus Station to national park, and costs 11 yuan per person. The bus runs every ten minutes.

It takes about 40 minutes from Zhangjiajie Bus Station to Wulingyuan, and costs 12 yuan per person. The bus runs every ten minutes. After arrival, take a taxi or Bus No.3 to get to the Biaozhi Men (ticket office).

It takes about one and half an hour from Zhangjiajie Bus Station to Tianzi Mountain, and costs 15 yuan per person. The bus runs every one hour. After arrival, you can take Tianzi Mountain shuttle bus to get to the top, if you don’t want to take the cable car or don’t expect much hiking and climbing.

It takes about one hour from Zhangjiajie Bus Station to Suoxi Valley, and costs 12 yuan per person. The bus runs every 10 minutes.

From Dragon International Hotel (Add: 46 Jiefang Road, Zhangjiajie), there are buses to Maoyan River and Mengdong River, places in Zhangjiajie for white-water rafting.

From Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport

There is not direct bus from Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport to national park or Wulingyuan, so you are suggested to get to the bus station in city center first. The Bus No.4 takes passengers from Zhangjiajie airport to Tianmen Mountain and the downtown area (available from 08:00M to 18:00PM). Or you can take a taxi. It costs 20 ~ 30 yuan from the airport to Zhangjiajie Bus Station by taxi. And then please refer to the above information for the buses to the major attractions. 

 

Zhangjiajie sightseeing shuttle buses

The hop-on and hop-off shuttle bus is the only transport to move from one attraction to another in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is free of charge and running between 07:00 am and 17:00 pm every day.

There are six shuttle bus lines:
 
1) From Laomo Bay of ZJJ National Park to Huangshi Zhai (Huangshi Village) Cable Car (lower);
 
2) Wulingyuan Ticket Office – Tianzi Mountain Cable Car – Ten-mile Gallery Scenic Area – Shui Rao Si Men;
 
3) From Shui Rao Si Men to Bailong Elevator (lower);
 
4) From Bailong Elevator (upper) to Yuanjiajie Back Garden;
 
5) From Yuanjiajie parking lot to Tianzi Mountain parking lot;
 
6) From Helong Park of Tianzi Mountain to Tianzi Mountain Cable Car (upper).
 
Note: part of shuttle bus lines may be suspended due to the icy mountain roads.
