Qiao Courtyard is located 30 kilometers northeast of the historic Pingyao city and 54 km south of Taiyuan in China. It was the residential house of the well-know financier Qiao Zhiyong of Qing Dynasty and is greatly admired as a very special artistic treasure.
It is quite easy to get to Qiao Courtyard by bus from both Taiyuan and Pingyao.
One could hop on a bus leaving for Pingyao or Qi County (it passes by Qiao Courtyard) at Taiyuan Jiannan Bus Station (take bus 611, 838, 23, 830, 619, 961, 201, 11 to get to the bus station in Taiyuan), then ask the driver to let you off at Qianjiabao on the way. You can not miss after you get off the bus there. the bus departs every 30 minutes and takes about 1 hour.
If you would like to continue your trip to Pingyao ancient town after tour in Qiao Courtyard, you can find the bus near the exit of the courtyard.
One can take bus which leaves for Taiyuan from the square of Pingyao Train Station or Pingyao Bus Station. The bus will pass by Qi Courtyard and you can ask the driver to drop you off at Qiaojiabao (Qi Courtyard). It takes about 40 minutes to take you there.
It is suggested to spend 2 hours or 3 hours in the courtyard, then you can head forward to your next destination or get back to Pingyao.
