Ordos, in Mongolian language means a place with many palaces, is located in the northwestern Inner Mongolia. Surrounding by the Yellow River in east, north and west three directions and facing the ancient Great Wall in the south, Ordos is near Shanxi, Shaaxi and Ningxia three provinces.

Population: Ordos is identified as the great natural scenery which extend so far as the eye is able to see. Climate: Ordos features a cold semi-arid climate, marked by long, cold and very dry winters, very warm, somewhat humid summers, and strong winds, especially in spring.
 
Most of the rain falls between July and September, with very little snow in winter.
 
Late August can be the best time to travel to Ordos because of the comfortable temperature which ranges from 20-25 to lows of 15 degrees centigrade.
 
Ordos Airport Information:
The Ordos Airport is 38 kilometers (24 miles) from the Dongsheng District, adjacent to the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan. The airport has recently opened flight to Beijing once a day with one hour's ride. Ordos is 240 kilometers (149 miles) from Hohhot and no more than three hours' ride to Baotou by train.
