How to Get to Ordos from Baotou

Ordos city situated in the southwest of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and is located in the Ordos plateau hinterland. There is two ways to get Ordos from Baotou in general, by train and by bus.

By Train

There are 8 pairs of trains from Baotou to Ordos or vice versa. The earliest one leaves at 06:43 and latest one at 22:30. It takes around 3 hours to 3 and a half hour from Baotou to Ordos by train. The trains depart from Baotou Station or Baotou East Station and arrive at Dongsheng West Station.

By Bus(Highly-recommended)

Ordos includes Dongsheng, Dongsheng is just a district of Ordos.

There are many buses from Baotou Long-Distance bus station to Dongsheng, Ordos. Estimated ten minutes interval will departs a bus and usually one and a half hours to 2 hours’ driving can reach Dongsheng.

► How to get to Baotou Long-Distance Bus Station
If you are taking train to Baotou and get off at the Baotou East station, then you can take bus No.17, get off at the bus stop, or take a taxi to the bus station for 7 yuan or so. Then take the bus to the Dongsheng, the fare is around 30 RMB. Or you can take the bus No.10 to Baobazhong stop and walk towards south, or take the No.13, 34, to the new Dongsheng bus stop.

Also if you go to the other area of the Ordos, for example, Jungar banner, Kangbashi district, etc, you need to go to Dongsheng first and then transfer to the other place. Wish you a pleasant journey.

There is no flight between direct flight between Hohhot and Ordos.
