There are many trains from Nanning to Guilin or vice verse. The earliest one leaves at 5:00 and latest one at 23:20. There are different types of train from Nanning to Guilin, and according to different types, the driving time is different.
The first character of train number has special meanings.
G series–High-Speed Train
D series–Electric Multiple Units (EMU) Train
T series–Express Train
K series–Fast Train
Z–Direct Express Train
The slowest train is K series which takes 4 to 7 hours from Nanning to Guilin. The fastest trains are G series and D series which take about 2 and a half hour from Nanning to Guilin. And there is only one T train and Z train from Nanning to Guilin. It takes 5 hours and 8 minutes from Nanning to Guilin by T train, and takes 4 hours and 3 minutes by Z train. There are two trains stations in both Nanning and Guilin, they are Nanning Railway Station, Nanning East Railway Station, Guilin Railway Station and Guilin North Railway Station.
There are buses all day in Langdong Bus Station, the earliest one leaves at 7:30 and latest one at 23:30. It takes about 4 hours from Naning to Guilin by bus. Every 15 minutes there is a bus departs from Nanning Langdong Bus Station to Guilin Bus Station. There are also buses to Guilin in Nanning Railway Station, but you have better not to take the bus from railway station.
