How to Get to Zhengzhou from Luoyang

Luoyang is situated in western Henan province of Central China. It borders the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to the east, Pingdingshan to the southeast, Nanyang to the south, Sanmenxia to the west, Jiyuan to the north. It is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China and the “Capital of Peony” in the country.

Zhengzhou is the capital of Henan Province located in east-central China. It is about 137 km away from Luoyang.

There are a lot of options for you to get to Zhengzhou from Luoyang or the vice verse: by train, coach or car rental. You can see the details as follow.

By high-speed train (recommended)

There are around 18 pairs of high-speed trains traveling between Luoyang and Zhengzhou. It takes 36 minutes to 55 minutes, depending on different trains. And it leaves from Luoyang Longmeng Train Station and arrive at Zhengzhou train station. The earliest high-speed train leaves at 12:09 am and the last at 11:01 pm.

Also, there are about regular 20 pairs of normal express trains. But it takes about 2 hours for one way trip, much longer than high-speed train. and normal express trains is less comfortable than high-speed trains.

About Luoyang Longmen Railway Station
There are two train stations in Luoyang: Luoyang Station (northern end of Jinguyuan Road) and Luoyang Longmen (south of Luoyang). Luoyang Longmen Railway Station is the main Railway Station in Luoyang for arrival and departure of high-speed train. it is near to downtown Luoang and can be reached by public bus: Bus 28, 49, 75 or 77 or taxi. There are also public buses from the station to Longmen Grottoes.

By Coach

There are many coaches leaving for Zhengzhou from Luoyang. It sets off from Luoyang Bus Terminal (it is near to Luoyang Railway Station to the east and the west). it takes about 2 to 3 hours on the way and costs about RMB 60.

By Car Rental

Car rental would be the most flexible and comfortable way traveling from Luoyang to Zhengzhou. Tourists come to Luoyang primarily to see the Longmen Caves, The White Horse Temple and Guanlin Temple which all lie in proximity to the town, rather than the town itself. You can visit those sits in one day. And they can all reached by public bus or taxi. But you should be very familiar with the route.
