Kashgar Transport
is about the Kashgar Transportation, including air, railway, highway, and urban traffic information. 

Kashgar has been an important trading center since the days of the Silk Road, and still is today. The road from Eastern and Central China branches out to both the north and south of the Taklamakan Desert, and Kashgar is where the two branches meet again in the western part of the desert.
 

External Transportation

Air

Kashgar Airport is located at the northwest to the Kashgar, about 9 km from the center of the city. It takes you about 15 to 20 Yuan by taxi to get there, or you can take No.2 local bus. Kashgar Airport is also the alternate spot for regular international flights. At present, South Airline flies 14 fights between Urumqi and Kashgar each week, and 4 fights of the Yining-Urumqi-Kashgar Line.  
 
Railway
Kashgar is the terminal of Nanjiang Railway (the section from Kashgar to Khotan is still under construction). The railway station is located 6 km east to the downtown. It takes 10 yuan to get there by taxi, or you can take No. 28 local bus to get there.
 
From Kashgar to Urumqi:

Highways
Kashgar highways extend in all directions. It has roads to its all 12 counties.
Northeast Direction: Kizilsu, Aksu, Korla, Turpan, and then north to Urumqi
Southeast Direction: Shule, Yingjisha County, Yarkand, Zep, Karghalik, Khotan and then leads to

Dunhuang in Gansu and Golmud in Qinghai. Driving south from Karghalik, you can get to Nagri Prefecture in Tibet.
 
There is China-Paraguay Highway to the south of Kashgar.
 
Take regular bus from Urumqi at 17:00, you can get to Kashgar at the noon of the third day.
 
There are three long-distance bus stations in Kashgar: Kashgar International Bus Station, Passenger station at Renming Dong Road, Bingtuannong Third Passenger Station at Keziledumei Road.
 
Notice:
Except for Kashgar City, there are less regular buses in this area. You can rent car or thumb a lift, and just be careful and take care of yourself.
If you want to go to Tashikuergan and GongJiLaFu Port, you’d better take the introduce letter of your company, or you can pay 10 yuan to get one at the local travel agencies, and also apply for border permit at the local public security office at Seman Road.
 

Urban Traffic

Taxi
The departure fare of Taxies in Kashgar is jus 5 Yuan. From Airport to you hotel is about 30 Yuan. From hotel to the airport is just 10 Yuan, so to the railway station. If you want to go out the downtown, the price is about 10 Yuan.
  
Public Bus
The price for local bus is just 1 Yuan per person.
