Jingdezhen lies in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, well-known for its exquisite porcelain products, especially the special blue and white porcelain. Its history of fine porcelain manufacturing can be dated back to East Jin Dynasty, 1600-year ago, thus in China, Jingdezhen also be nicknamed “City of Chinaware”. Jingdezhen has rich porcelain clay resources, which is the basic material of porcelain manufacturing. During the long time development, Jingdezhen porcelain has been formed its own four special features, that is, “White like jade, bright as a mirror, thin as paper, sound like a chime”. Blue and White Porcelain, Ling-long Porcelain, Famille-rose Porcelain and Coloured Glaze Porcelain are the four classic products of Jingdezhen.

 

Locates at longitude 116°57’-117°42’ East, 28°44’-29°56' North latitude, Jingdezhen has a subtropical monsoon climate, with abundant sunshine and rainfall, the average temperature is around 17-20℃.

 

The topography thereis typical Hilly Red Soil one. The ground slopes down to southwest from northeast, mountainous in the northeast and northwest. Actually, Jingdezhen locates in a basin, the average altitude in downtown is around 32-m.
