Hohhot Transport

Hohhot is the transportation hub in Inner Mongolia, and it is now accessible by air, railway and highway.
 

External Transport

 

Hohhot Baita International Airport is located 9 hrs away to the downtown. There are several flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xian, Wuhan and other middle and big cities. There are also fights to some nearby cities such as Chifeng, Tongliao, Xilinhot, Ulanhot and Hailar. It opens international flights to Ulan Bator in Mongolia, Chita in Russia and other cities.

 

From Airport to Xinhua Square: the Price is 5 Yuan per person, and the driving time is about half an hour.

From Guohang Mansion to Airport: the price is 5 Yuan per person, and you’d better take the bus 90 min before the departure of the flight. The bus departs in every 30 min.

 

You can take No.12 Public Bus to the Airport. The starting point is at Inner Mongolia Electric Power School. The antepenultimate station is the Hohhot Baita International Airport. The ticket price is 2 Yuan.

 

The No. 7 Public Bus is the first airport special bus. It runs between Hohhot Airport office Building and Xinhua Square. The distance between the two points are 15 km with 9 stops. The price is 4 Yuan per person.

 

Take taxi to the airport

The price is about 30 Yuan. If you take taxi from airport to the railway station, it costs about 20 Yuan.

 

Jingbao Railway passes through Hohhot. There are trains starting from Beijing, Chengdu and Lanzhou to Hohhot. There are also trains from Hohhot to Tianjin, Harbin, Shenyang, Hangzhou, Haikou, Guangzhou, Shijiazhuang, Xian, Yinchuan and other large and medium-sized cities.

 

The railway station is located at the Chenzhan East Street. You can take No. 1, 2, 5, 7, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 302 and 303 to get there.

 

Hubao Highway finished construction and has come into use. Hohhot’s each counties are accessible now. It also opened 6 passenger bus routes.

 

Many blocking agricultural and pastoral areas and border areas have built roads. There are tens of regular long-distance buses to some nearby towns.
 

Hohot Local Traffic

There are over 100 public bus routes in Hohhot. The price is 1 Yuan per person. The main attractions such as Zhaojun Tomb, Dazhao Temple, General Government Office, Inner Mongolia Museum, Five Pagodas Temple all has public buses passes.

The No.301, 302, 303 are minibus with the ticket of 1.5 Yuan per person. The No.12 local bus is 2 Yuan per person and the No. 7 airport special line is 4 Yuan per person.

 
►Tourism Special line:

No.23 is the tourism special line from railway station to Wusutu State’s Forest Park. It runs between 9:00-17:00, and departs in every hour. If pass by Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall, General Government Office, Xinrong City’s external city resort, Forest Park Road and Wusutu State’s Forest Park.

 

Hohhot Taxi’s departure fare is 6 Yuan for the first 2 km, and the extra distance is 1 Yuan per km (1.1 Yuan per each km in night).
