Wuyishan Mountain Scenic Area is located in Wuyishan, Nanping, in the northwest of Fujian province, and it is also in the border of Fujiang province and Jiangxi province. Wuyishan Mountain Scenic Area is reputed for its Danxia Landform and tranquil scenery. From the ancient time, it has been a famous mountain for Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, and in 1999 it was recognized by UNESCO as part of the world's natural and cultural heritage. It has been developed for tourism for many years, and convenient transportation is available to access to it.
Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian province, located in the east coast. Wuyishan is in the northwest of Fuzhou, about 268 kilometers from Fuzhou. Close to Wuyishan Mountain Scenic Area, Wuyishan Airport, Wuyishan Railway Station and Wuyishan Bus Station are available for tourists and visitors, but there aren’t non-stop flights from Fuzhou to Wuyishan. For tourists from Fuzhou to Wuyishan, bus and trains are available and more convenient.
Option 1: by Train( Recommended)
Fuzhou Railway Station（福州火车站） -Wuyishan Railway Station（武夷山火车站）- Wuyishan Mountain Scenic Area（武夷山风景区）
From Fuzhou Railway Station to Wuyishan Railway Station, the distance is about 278 kilometers, and the distance between Wuyishan Mountain Scenic Area and Wuyishan Railway Station is about 16 kilometers. Over 50 trains are available from early morning 06:55 to night 20:56, travelling from Fuzhou to Wuyishan. The journey takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes by high speed train, and takes about 5 hour and 30 minutes by fast train. Thus I recommend you take a high speed train or a high speed bullet train.
First take a train from Fuzhou to Wuyishan. Second, if you get off at Wuyaishan Railway Station, you could take No.2 public bus, get off at Zhanqian crossing bus stop(站前路口) after 5 stops, then transfer to No. 6 public bus, and get off at the terminal stop after 21 stops, Wuyigong bus stop(武夷宫). Or you could take a taxi directly to Wuyishan Mountain Scenic Area. No.2 public bus travels from 06:20 to 22:20 in summer time, and from 06:30 to 22:20 in winter time, and the departure interval is about 10 minutes. No.6 pubic bus travels from 06:20 to 22:20 in summer time, and from 06:30 to 22:20 in winter time, and the departure interval is about 10 minutes. If you get off at Wuyishanbei(Wuyishan North) Railway Station, you could take No. 7 public bus, and get off at Jingqu Nanrukou( south gate of Wuyishan scenic spot). No.7 public from Wuyishanbei Railway Station to Nanyuanling travels from 06:20 to 21:30. If you get off at Wuyishandong( Wuyishan East) Railway Station, you could take K1 public bus, and get off at Jingqu Nanrukou( south gate of Wuyishan scenic spot), which travels from 08:15 to 22:25 from the railway station to the scenic spot, takes about 1 hour and costs 10 yuan.

Option 2: by Bus(not Recommended)
From Fuzhou North Bus Station, there is a long distance bus travelling to Wuyishan from Fuzhou, and it leaves Fuzhou at 09:25 every day, takes about 4 hours and costs about 100 yuan. After getting out of the bus station, walk about 400 meters to Ximen bus stop, then take No.9 or No.7 public bus, and get off at the Jingqu Beirukou( north gate of Wuyishan scenic spot). No.9 public bus travels from 06:00 to 19:00, from the bus station to the scenic spot.
Option 3: Car Rental
Car rental is much more expensive than bus transportation and train transportation. If you are in a group 4 or a group of 7, car rental would be a bit more reasonable in price. In the case that you want an experienced driver and a tour guide, you could book a transfer service from a local travel agency or from us. The most reasonable travelling from Fuzhou to Wuyishan is by train, especially high speed train and high speed bullet train, which is fast, cheap, and safe. But pay attention to its departure and arrival time, because you may need to transfer to the railway station and Wuyishan Scenic Area. Option 1 is highly recommended to tourists travelling alone, considering the fare and safety. Option 2 has the lowest price, but it costs much time, and the transfer to bus station is a bit troublesome. Option 3 is suitable for a group of tourists with a big budget.
