Dunhuang Airport is one of four civilian airports in Gansu Province. It is located at Moga Town 12 kilometers east of Dunhuang downtown. It is an important tourist regional airport. The Airport, with complete and fully functional facilities, is the main alternate airport of urumqi International Airport. At peak hours, Dunhuang Airport’s passenger throughput is about 600 people. The terminal building area is 12,000 square meters, one and a half layer type. The second floor designed part of lounge and commercial facilities; both could meet the functional requirements. In 2007, the airport opened to international aviation temporary crossings.
Dunhuang Airport Company was founded in July 2004, formerly known as the Civil Aviation Terminal Dunhuang, Gansu Provincial Bureau, under the Gansu Airport Group. In May, 2006 Gansu Airport Group and HNA Group became a joint reorganization, and the company has been formally incorporated into the Dunhuang Airport HNA Airport. The Company has cadres and employees 124 people, setting the general management, planning and finance department, air traffic control center, airport operations department, Run Security, Public Security Bureau, six departments.
