Gourmet Tour in Wuhan

Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province. It is the largest metropolis in central China. The best time to visit there is from March to May and September to November. Try to avoid to visit there in summer (June, July and August), it is very hot during the months. Spring is the season of flowers in full bloom. On the campus of Wuhan University of one can see cherry blossoms on tree branches. Cherry blossoms bloom for only a week, make sure you come to the right time.

Except for the beautiful and attractive natural view and historic sites that is worth visiting in Wuhan, local food in Wuhan is quite famous around the country, like Hot dry noodles, Marinated Duck neck, Wuchang Steamed Fish, skin of beancurd, etc. They are all famous traditional food in this city.

Hot dry noodle is different from the cold noodle or soup noodle. Noodles should be cooked in advance, and put into cold water quickly and pull it to put in a bowl. Mix the cooled noodle with sauce, which is made by sesame paste, sesame oil, balsamic vinegar sauce, chili oil sauce, etc. Hot dry noodle is popular with the locals, especially for breakfast. You can always find a Hot dry noodle store while you are walking around the street in Wuhan. And the taste of it is different in different stores. The simplest way to recognize which store is the most popular is to see the queen in front of the store. If the queen is quite long, it means the Hot Dry Noodle in this store taste great. The most famous restaurant to eat Hot dry noodle is in Cai Lin Ji Restaurant. The feature of it is that the sesame sauce is made from black sesame.

Wuchang Fish

Wuchang fish is famous for tender and fresh taste. It is rich in protein and fat. There are various methods to cook Wuchang fish, one of the most famous is steamed Wuchang fish. It usually take one kilogram of fish as main ingredient, complementary with ham, mushroom, bamboo shoots, chicken soup and other many kinds of ingredients to be steamed together on a suitable fire. After the fish is finished, red, green, yellow cut vegetables will be put on the fish for decoration. An the dish is finished.

Bean curd is fried thick liquid made from a mixture of Mung beans and rice, with glutinous rice and cooked diced meat, eggs, fresh shrimp fillings packaged inside the fried Bean Curd. One can find many small stores or stalls selling Skin of Bean Curd in Wuhan. Skin of Bean Curd in Hu Bu Xiang is quite famous.

Bitten Wuhan Duck Neck is famous all over the country. There are two of the most famous brands, "Jing Wu Duck Neck" and "Zhou Hei Ya Duck Neck". Jing Wu Duck Neck is one of the most famous snacks in Wuhan, because it originated in the Jing Wu Road in Hankou District, so it was named after the street. Jing Wu Duck Neck is made in spicy Sichuan-style, smells fragrant and taste stimulus and very delicious. The brand "Zhou Hei Ya Duck Neck" was created in 1997.

Shou Yi Yuan is located in Peng Liu Yang Road in WuChang District. It covers an area of 30000 square meters. Except for cuisine, sometimes visitors can watch characteristic folk arts here. This place is more like Chenghuangmiao in Shanghai. Each year during the Spring Festival, there will be held a grand temple fair, very busy.

Ji Qing Street is great place for nightlife in this city. Walk into Ji Qing Street, you will many red lanterns hanging over your head.
