Phoenix Mosque Restaurant is considered as the best Halal food restaurant in Hangzhou. Both the main dishes and snacks made of mutton are delicious. The most famous food at Phoenix Mosque Restaurant should be the lamb shashlik which tastes tender, hot and spicy. Most people would buy lots of shashliks here. This restaurant is near to the Hangzhou Phoenix Mosque. As one of the famous four mosques of China, Hangzhou's Phoenix Mosque, which is also known as the Fenghuang Mosque, was built in the Tang Dynasty. The mosque was destroyed in the Song dynasty and it wasn't rebuilt on the original site until 1281. During the Ming Dynasty the mosque was renovated and expanded. The Phoenix mosque has a surface area of 2,600 meters and within the mosque there still remain cultural remains such as artwork, Arabic inscriptions and stone steles.
