Xuanwu Lake is located in the Xuanwu District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, with Purple Mountain in the east, Ming City Wall in the west, Nanjing Station in the north and Fuzhou Mountain in the south. The name of Xuanwu Lake started in Southern Song Dynasty. At the Northern Song Dynasty, Wang An shi advocated returning lakes to fields and the Xuanwu Lake disappeared for 200 years. In the Yuan Dynasty, Xuanwu Lake reappeared. In the Qing Dynasty, Xuanwu Lake has been a tourist area. In 1928, Xuanwu Lake was opened to the public as a park.
Huanhu Road is 9.8 kilometers long, which is one of the Most Beautiful Running Routes in Jiangsu. Nanjing marathon will pass this road every time.
