Liuhou Park, located on the north bank of Liujiang River in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province, is the most famous scenic spot in Liuzhou, Guangxi. It is a park built to commemorate Liu Zongyuan who is the Tang Dynasty's great writers and former governor of Liuzhou. It was built in the first year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1909). On December 7, 2009, Liuhou Park was one the list of the third batch of national key parks. is on the list. As a result, Liuhou Park has become the only national key park in Guangxi.

What to see

Liuhou Park, located in the center of Liuzhou, is a park built to commemorate the Tang Dynasty's great writer Liu Zongyuan, who was once the governor of Liuzhou. It covers an area of 15.52 hectares. Founded in 1906, the park has historic sites related to Liu Zongyuan, such as Liu Zongyuan Memorial Temple, Liu Zongyuan's Tomb of the Crown, Luochi Pool, and Ganxiang Pavilion.

Liu Zongyuan Memorial Temple

Originally known as Luochi Temple, "Liuhou Temple" is located in the west of Liuhou Park. It is the tomb of Liuzhongyuan, a famous politician, thinker and writer of the Tang Dynasty. "Liu Hou Temple" was reconstructed in accordance with the buildings of the Qing Dynasty. Liu Houxuan is ancient and imposing, with the imitation bronze statue of Liu Zongyuan and his ministry. It displays cultural relics, charts, paintings and calligraphy, and introduces Liu Zongyuan’s life and historical achievements in detail. The most precious treasure of the temple is "Three-wonder Stele", or "Lizi Stele".

Ganxiang Pavilion

Next to Luochi, there is a hexagonal long pavilion, which is the "Ganxiang Pavilion". In the past, Liu Zongyuan once planted yellow mandarin here, and wrote "Planting tangerine Poem" widely circulated, so later generations built this pavilion. The pavilion decorated with green tiles, red pillars, and exquisitely-made pavilion angles, quite distinctive.

Gardens

There are nearly 7 hectares of artificial lakes in the park. The clear water and the curved bridges are side by side contrasting finely with each others. The park also has bonsai gardens, zoos and children's playgrounds and other colorful places and facilities. It is one of the main attractions of Guangxi tourism. Liuhou Park is situated at No. 60, Wenhui Road, Chengzhong District, Liuzhou City, Guangxi (opposite the museum). It is located in the monsoon climate zone that transitions from the mid-subtropical to the southern Asian belt. Summer is hot, winter is not cold, rainfall is plentiful, light temperature is abundant, rain and heat are in the same season, and the frost-free period is long. The vertical temperature difference is greater than the latitude temperature difference. The average temperature in the central and southern parts of Liuzhou is 20.6 ° C, while the northern mountainous area is between 16.5 ° C.

How to get to Liuhou Park

1. Take the No. 31 bus or No. 105 bus, get off at the “Wenhui Road” Station and walk for about 2 minutes to the east, facing the north is the south gate of the park.

2. Take the bus No.4, 14, 30, 69, and 79, get off at the "Wenhui Road West" station, walk for about 3 minutes to the east, facing the north is the south gate of the park.

3. Take the bus No.31, 39, and 26 to the “wanting road south” and enter on the side of the park.
