Ranks as the largest waterfall in Asia and the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world, Detian Waterfall is located in the Detian village, Shuolong Town, Daxin Coutny, Chongzuo City near Nanning City with its splendid scenery.

The Detian Waterfall is over 200 meters wide and has a drop of more than 70 meters. The average annual flow of the waterfall is 50 cubic meters per second, and the geology of the area is thick layered dolomite. Its water rushes down a three-tiered cliff with tremendous force. The fall is awe-inspiring, and its thunder is audible before it even comes into view.

Landscape

The changing seasons transform the natural scenery of Detian Waterfall throughout the year. In spring, the flame-red blossoms of the kapok trees that surround the waterfall are in full bloom, symbolizing success. Throughout the autumn months, though, the area around the waterfall turns golden-yellow, creating a harvest scene. In the summer, visitors feel a complete freedom of mind and ease of spirit as they see the waters of the fall cascade with the momentum force of an avalanche. During winter, on the other hand, the fall's clear water drops slowly, making visitors feel even-tempered and good-humored. The Detian Waterfall appears to be a sculpture made by nature.

At noon the sun is shining, in the hundreds of meters wide cliff, giant waterfall like the sea, ups and downs for 50 meters; the collision voice echoed in the mountain stream, audible from a far distance. Environment

Detian waterfall is located in the upstream of Guichunhe River in Daxin County, about 50 meters from the No. 53 boundary tablet between China and Vietnam. Clear Guichunhe River is tributary of Zuojiang River, is also the China-Vietnam Border River, and Detian waterfall is masterpiece when it flows through Putang Island. Waterfall levels drop, maximum width of more than 200 meters, more than 60 meters depth, drops 70 meters, average annual flow of 50 cubic meters per second, and local geology is thick bedded dolostone. It is the largest natural waterfall in southeast Asia, listed as a special attraction by the state.

Best Time to Visit

When is the best time to visit Detian Waterfall? The best time to visit Detian Waterfall is from June to November every year, during which time the water is large and the water quality is clear due to the rainfall season. It is the best time to enjoy the spectacle view of the waterfall. The Detian Waterfall has plenty of water in the summer and the surrounding vegetation is lush.

From December to May, it is a dry season. During this period, the amount of water in the waterfall is small, and the earth and stone in the waterfall are more exposed, and the viewing effect will be greatly reduced.

Transport

► There is a special tourism express bus departing at Fengling Passenger Transport Station (next to Nanning East Railway Station) at 9:00 am every day, which can go directly to the tourist center of the scenic spot. The whole journey takes the expressway and it takes 3.5 hours to reach the destination. But travel time is limited, bus returns to Nanning from the scenic spot at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

► Every day at 9:00 am, there is a tourist line at the Nanning Langdong Railway Station, which can go directly to the gate of the scenic spot. However, there are restrictions on time and bus must be returned at 3:30 pm. If you can’t catch up, one can take bus to Daxin bus station, and then take bus go back to Nanning city.

► There are many buses to Daxin in Nanning North Bus Station every day. You can take bus to Daxian first and then transfer to Detian Scenic Spot. Because the traffic is more complex and inconvenient, it is better to join in group tour.

Accommodation

Visit to Detian waterfall, if you want to go and return within a day, you can live in Nanning and take the bus departs at 8:30 am to Detian waterfall is also available to take bus in north bus station from Nanning to Daxin County and then transfer to the scenic spot. If you choose to get accommodation in Nanning, it would be convenient to stay near the station.

If you want to see a waterfall in the morning, you must live outside the Nanning city, you can choose to stay in the Daxin county or Xialei town of Daxin. There are many hotels to stay in these two places, but the quality is uncertain, you can see the condition first and then check in.
