Changsha Transport

Changsha is an important transportation hub city in southern China with developed and convenient water, land and air transportation. It has formed a the vertical crossing transport network of water, land and air.

External Traffic


Aviation
The civilian airport in Changsha is the Changsha Huanghua International Airport. Huanghua International Airport is located in Huanghua Town, Changsha County, east of Changsha urban area, about 22 km away from the city. It is the fifth largest airport in China and is the largest international airport in Hunan Province, also, it is the hub airport in Central China. The airport has flights directly to 47 major domestic cities like Beijing, Taipei, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, etc. In addition, it has flights to some foreign cities like Bangkok, Seoul, Pusan, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, etc.

Railway
Changsha is a national important large railway station. It has Beijing-Guangzhou Railway run through the north and south. There are many daily trains stopping or originating from the Changsha. Changsha has trains to a few large and medium-sized cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Harbin, Shenyang, Xi'an, Kunming, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Fuzhou, Nanning, Jinan, etc.

Highway
Changsha is Hunan's highway transportation hub which has highways extend in all directions. The national road No. 107 (Beijing - Shenzhen) and No. 319 ( Xiamen - Chengdu) intersect in the city; the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway pass through the city; the provincial highways scatter in all directions regarding Changsha as a center. Changsha Long-Distance Bus Station has buses sent to various regions in Hunan Province and nearby cities in other province. The city has several large long-distance bus stations, namely South Station, East Station, West Station and North Station. In addition, Changsha had daily tourist buses to Shaoshan, Huaminglou, Hengshan Mountain, Zhangjiajie.

Water Transport
Changsha waterway links through rivers and seas. Shipping from Changsha, you can pass through Yueyang up to Chongqing, middle to Wuhan, down to Shanghai. At present, Changsha has navigable port along the Yangtze River, Nanjing, Shanghai, Lianyungang, etc.



City Traffic
Bus
Changsha urban areas have buses everywhere. Changsha has 3 transit hubs including Changsha Train Station, Dongtang, Rongwan Town, where you can go to the various parts of the Changsha City. Most of Changsha's buses are the self-service ticketing cars. The ordinary bus charges 1 yuan and the air-conditioned bus charges 2 yuan.

Taxi
During daytime, the pricing of taxi in Changsha start at 6 yuan / 2 km and the additional unit price of 1.8 yuan / km beyond 2 km. During night (21:00 - 5:00 the next day), the pricing starts at 7 yuan / 2 km and additional unit price of 2.16 yuan / km beyond 2 km.
