Day 1Arrival Xiapu
Transfer to hotel, Shoot sunset at Xiaohao Beach

Meals: No meal
Accommodation: In Xiapu

In the morning, arrive in Xiapu, a beautiful county in the northeast of Fujian Province. Check-in hotel and have a fresh-up, we will start the amazing photography tour after lunch.

In the afternoon, we will shoot the sunset of Xiaohao Beach. Xiaohao Mudflat is about 18 km away from the center of Xiapu. Do not forget to bring your telephoto lens when you are going to shoot at Xiaohao Mudflat. It is mainly sandy and has no definite water channel. The freshwater channel down from the mountain changes into a new zigzag channel after the tides. It seems the artery of the mudflat from a distance. Xiaohao mudflat is the only mudflat in Xiapu that can be shot in the morning or at dusk all the year-round.  Except for the freshwater channel, you can also see locals working there, such as sea breeding, fish fry, etc. As long as there is light, Xiaohao Mudflat is a creative base of changes.

Today, we have to get up early in the morning and go to Huazhu to shoot the sunrise. Besides, Huazhu is also the best place to watch the panoramic view of the "Fuyao Islands". Especially the sunrise is the most magnificent. Under the scattered light, with unpredictable colors, it shows a magnificent landscape of harmony between man and nature. Then we will go to Nanwan Village in Yantian to film the linear mudflats and small net fences.

In the afternoon, we will go to Yantian to shoot the life of fishermen living on a fishing boat. Even the boats are colorful, where we could shoot their working scenes such as hanging oysters. The fishermen lived in the simple fishing boats generations and generations, living on fishing and collecting shells. They live a difficult life drifting on the sea, so they are also called the "Sea Gypsy". Such a group is known as the Lianjia boat people in China. Then go to Huyu'ao to shoot the sunset on the sea with both light and backlight.

Thanks to Ms Raylene He we had a wonderful and well organised trip to 5 destinations which all went off without a hitch including being met by guides and drivers in each city and looked after very well. This all included several domestic flights a train trip and permits. I have no qualms in recommending this company to other travellers.

Raylene did a wonderful job organizing our tour to meet our time constraints. She answered all questions very efficiently. Our tour guide Rocco met us at the airport and the Driver was waiting near by. I have specific dietary restrictions and the guide was extremely helpful communicating that with the restaurants. The trip was so easy and we always felt safe. My husband and I are looking forward to booking a more extended trip in the future. There is so much to see and the food is wonderful!

I'm from Sri Lanka and I visited China with 11 pax of group on June. Janet was in charge of the arrangements (hotel bookings) and our guide for city of Beijing was Cathy from Top China travel agency and she was on time with excellent knowledge about all the places we visited. She was very helpful, friendly, flexible and excellent speaking in English language. They make our trip to unforgettable life time experience.

I took the boat cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. Lunch was included on board. The day of the trip it was raining, which I felt added something to the ambiance. There aren't any buildings along the way, it's pretty much all nature. I liked the experience personally, but I feel that the price was a little high. The food on board was decent as well, but drinks were outrageously expensive.

I was planning a trip to China with my mom and 2 kids. Had received a few quotes from various people, Joyce being one of them. After shortlisting, I decided to go with Joyce from TCT & that's the best choice I made which made my trip super nice and very memorable. Joyce is very nice, understanding, patient, always replied to my emails promptly and fully answered anything and everything I asked her. Eventually we both came up with a 12 day itenary covering 4 places - Shanghai, Xi'an, Harbin & Beijing. She had looked into every single detail to make sure all my needs were met. We are an Indian vegetarian family. :) Every 2nd day, there was a change in my idea and I used to write it down to her and she responded very well to everything :) So, there were English speaking guides and drivers for us during the trip. Every single one of them is just awesome and very prompt. A special mention to my guides Mulan - Shanghai, Miki - Xi'an, Gloria - Harbin, Emily - Beijing. Not to forget the drivers. Such helpful, friendly, professional, punctual, prompt and efficient people. The entire trip was so smooth. Ticketing, checking in at hotels, taking us to Indian restaurants, even checking us in at the airports no time was wasted and everything just went right. We covered a lot of places in all the cities. Had the best of weather (Harbin was -21) and it even snowed in Xi'an. The great wall is just grand :) At Shanghai, there was a little confusion and my ATM card got stuck at the bank machine. My guide Mulan did all she could to help me out. She spoke to the officers, tried to help and then when we were looking for other ATMs she walked with me all they way just to help me out. After we finished shopping, we forgot one of our packets at the market, Mulan helped it get delivered at Beijing for us. That's how sweet she is. Similarly, Gloria at Harbin was equally amazing. She helped us so much in that freezing weather - she even provided the kids with warmers and helped us click pictures when our hands were numb with cold & she made sure the kids had a gala time. Thanks girls. All tours were very professionally arranged. So much so that we had to prepone our trip by 2 days and when I mentioned this to Joyce, she immediately spoke to the agency and even arranged for a refund of the places we did not visit. Very accommodating, I must say. I would like to emphasise that without TCT, we would not have enjoyed our trip at all. It is my most memorable trip ever. Thank you again Joyce :) Had a very satisfying experience. Looking forward for more trip through TCT

Huge thank you to Janet and Eric for an excellent trip to Beijing. Booking our trip with Janet was informative of all the available itineraries and destinations to visit and she made it easy to book our chosen one. Janet kept in touch even on our birthdays, most appreciated. We were met at the airport by Eric who was very friendly and knowledgable about Beijing and very happy to answer questions we had.The days were well planned and included several attractions all in one day. For example in one day we visited Tian'an,en square, the Forbidden city and the temple of heaven. Transport from place to place was seamless and very comfortable. Overall our experience in Beijing was extremely interesting and stress free. We will definitely highly recommend Top China Travel to friends who want a great experience in Beijing.

The views are stunning and the boat that we were on had VIP seating for just our group with a private balcony to view the river.

My husband and I booked a two week private tour of China with Top China Travel. It was an excellent experience. Vicky, a tour consultant, offered us a very good program visiting Beijing, Xian, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai and Nanjing. We really enjoyed every location. The tour guides were knowledgeable and helpful. In Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing me made our own hotel reservation and in Xian an Zhangjiajie TCT made the reservations for us. Lunch was included in the tour and the selection of the restaurants was excellent in most locations (except Xian). Overall great tour!

A wonderful experience travelling down the river Li in the mist - fairyland paradise all rolled into one. Our guide Arther was excellent and was able to point out places of interest on the trip. Top China Travel who organised the whole trip were extremely efficient. A must place to visit even if time is limited.

We recently returned from a 16 day tour of China. Our holiday was organised by Rebecca Wei who was a pleasure to deal with. We arrived in Beijing and departed from Shanghai. There was lots to organise as we had two internal flights and three train journeys as well as three nights on a boat cruising the Yangtze river. All the arrangments fell into place like clockwork, our guides were excellent, spoke very good english and had a good knowledge of the places we visited. We saw some fantastic sights but some of the highlights for us were The Great Wall, The Yungang Grottoes, The Hanging Temple Datong, The terrracotta warriors and the muslim quarter in Xiang and the cruise on the Yangtze. We travelled in September so the temperatures were around 28C [ fine for us as we live in Durban] it is also a good time as the lines to get enterance to some places were very short. There was a lot of walking involved so comfortable walking shoes are a must as well as a sun hat. We stayed in a couple of "traditional" hotels which we loved and then some very upmarket hotels. The exception was the hotel in Xiang which scored 100% on location but had some very unfriendly staff a poor restaurant as well as putting us in an unrenovated room for the first night. We moved to the renovated floors for the other night which was much better. I should add here that this was a mistake by the hotel not TCT] My one regret is that we should have stayed a night in Wuzhen Water Town but that really was not practical as we had to leave our hotel in Shanghai at 4 in the morning to catch the flight home. We have some wondefull memories so thank you Rebecca and TCT for organizing a really interesting holiday Andrew and Anne B, DurbanSouth Africa

TCT was very helpful in our Guilin trip. We are vegetarians and they made sure we were well fed. We had a private tour with TCT and my only regret was that I wish it had included a Li river cruise to Ghanshou. Make sure you ask for one instead of going by road.

Enjoyable busy day!7 am start covering Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City early on amidst tight crowds followed by an unexpected stop at Pharmacy institute where we were able for a small “tip” enjoy a short foot massage and consultation with a Chinese medicine expert. Unfortunately this turned into an embarrassing pressure sell of his prescribed medicines which left us underwhelmed!Lunch was acceptable followed by a wiz around the Temple of Heaven. On the way to our final destination the Summer Palace we had another unexpected stop and “selling” opportunity at a pearl factory (store actually). Guide had his own sense of humour and opinions which were often unintelligible or off the wall and his English Weaker than other “English” speaking guides that we have experienced in China.All that said, we had a good day out in some very worthwhile places to visit and felt it value for money. Our favorite was the relative peace of the Summer Palace surroundings and in particular watching the old guys flying kites at heights I could not imagine possible.

Our family of my wife and I plus two children and their families worked with Top China Tours on an 11-day private tour. The result was a smoothly run tour with excellent guides, good buses and well handled air and rail journeys. The 5-start hotels were top notch. Our family of 8 had a fantastic learning experience going to Beijing, Xian, Gulin/Yangshou and Shanghai. We hit the usual tourist spots, but Janet, our tour director also included smaller sites and special events to enhance the private tour. She was excellent at adding flexibility to the tour so that one couple went on a pre-tour Yangtze cruise, and the family with two children got to Happy Valley park so the kids could experience a Chines theme park. Overall the whole family had a great travel experience thanks to Janet and the others at Top China Tours.

I can't recommend this company enough!! I started talking to Yocky via the chat system on their website, as we wanted to do a 2.5 week trip around China. Our itinerary was: Shenzhen-Beijing-Xian-Kunming-Dongchuan-Chengdu-Guilin-Sanya Here's how things went: 1) She was instant in her replies and responded to subsequent emails within the hour (and trust me, I sent A LOT of emails). She was always so thorough and efficient. 2) She made us a tailor made trip that covered everything we wanted, including some slightly more off the beaten track attractions. 3) She helped us keep to our budget and suggested reasonable things we could cut out when things were too expensive (not something many companies would do as they are trying to make a quick buck). 4) She listened to all of our requests for things such as early morning flights, vegetarian food, and readjusting itineraries. 5) All our drivers and guides were EXCELLENT; they were prompt, kind, spoke excellent English and had a wealth of knowledge about all the sites we saw. All the cars on our private tours were nice and comfortable and had water. 6) Despite asking for 3* hotels, all 7 hotels we stayed in seemed like 4* to us and all included breakfast. 7) With such a large and complicated trip there were bound to be a few hiccups (e.g. there was a marathon in Xian one day which meant a lot of roads were closed, so we couldn't access sites). Yocky was in touch with us the entire time and helped us rearrange our plans quickly and ordered complimentary tickets to a show to make up for the inconvenience. We were so nervous about our first trip to China as we speak no mandarin and are strict vegetarian but honestly this was one of the best trips of our life; this company made it so easy for us and I really can't imagine having been able to do it myself any better!
