We booked our trip with Top China Travel a private tour and was amazing experience. We were 4 people , just ladies. It was very well organized, our Spanish guides in the different cities very good especially Leon in Xian, the best. They were very knowledgeable and took care of us. Every time we went to another city, they didn't leave us until the check-in at the different airports. Our agent Raylene did an excellent job, organizing our trip, she was on top of everything. Thanks Raylene for our unforgettable vacation.

Our guide picked us up on time despite all the traffic of National Holiday Week and explained to us early on that her English was not great (however still enough to communicate some history of the village and the region) but she was very friendly and helpful. We were told we would go to another village rather than Ping'an because of the crowds which we much preferred because it meant we could explore this one (however we did not see a long hair show).

If you ever go to Beijing try to have Likun Sun or Li as we called him, as your guide. He is very professional, very knowledgable and also good fun. His English is very good, so no communication problems, and he goes out of his way to make sure you see and do everything you want to. We went to Gubei Water Village, to Simatai Great Wall and on to Chengde, where we visited the Imperial Summer Resort. Li suggested we took the shuttle bus which took us around the huge grounds with several photo stops with fantastic views. An excellent suggestion as there was no way you could have seen so much on foot. Then we visited the Putuo Zongcheng Temple and Quingchui Mountain. Li was able to tell us all about the history of the temple, explaining its origins. From there we drove to Shanhaiguan Area to see the First Pass Under Heaven, Great Wall Museum and where the Great Wall ends/starts in the sea. Again Li was a fount of information. But the thing we really appreciated was being able to find out so much about not only Chinese culture and history but Li told us about everyday life. Unlike many other guides Li had a professional career which involved travel abroad, and when he was forcibly retired at 60 he retrained to become a guide. His previous experience gives him a perspective and depth of experience you don't get with younger guides. He tells you about life in China past and present from personal experience. And best of all he is so very enthusiastic about being your guide, for example, finding out what you like to eat and making sure you get it!

The tour was well managed although expensive. The cruise vessel was fine and pretty much as you might expect. The scenery however is worth some minor hassles and a must do if in Guilin. It takes some 4.5 hours up the river and if you avoid the tourist on the road trip back it will take another 1.5 hours. Allow an hour in Yungshuo which is interesting but a tourist trap.

My daughter and I had a terrific 6 day adventure hiking the Great Wall of China, made extra special by our wonderful, caring, attentive, informative, experienced guide, Jack Chen, and our kind and thoughtful driver, Mr. Zhou. We hiked the Gubeikou, Jinshanling, Wohushan, Jiankou, and Mutianyu sections of the Great Wall,.5-6 hours a day, with our guide, Jack Chen offering information about Chinese history, culture, politics, life, food, and what's it's like to live in China. Jack even gave us tai chi and kung fu lessons in the evening. The hikes offered spectacular views of the mountain ranges and valleys with views of the winding wall in the distance. You can just imagine the enemy armies trying to attack from the north. We took hundreds of pictures! I even got to celebrate my birthday on the second day of the hiking tour and asked other hikers we met to sing happy birthday to me in their own language. Jack and Mr Zhou surprised me with a delicious birthday cake which we all devoured after dinner. Our accommodations were suitable. We ate delicious food, carefully chosen by Jack, being attentive to my daughter's gluten-free needs...no bread, dumplings or wheat noodles. Hiking the "wild wall" on the 3rd day was really challenging! We hiked on very rough, broken, steep, overgrown, and narrow sections of the wall, but it was well worth it! We did welcome the cable car ride down. By the end of the 3rd day, we were tired and our legs felt it! Make sure you wear comfortable and sturdy hiking or trail shoes, carry a small day pack with snacks and water, light layers and a rain jacket. The weather changes a lot. This was a truly marvelous experience, not to be missed even if you hike only one day. If you are lucky to get Jack Chen as your guide, you will be very fortunate and extremely pleased and satisfied. He is a special person! Our trip was indeed, memorable!

Lily from Top China Travel and her staff provided us an amazing 15 day visit to China last month, which featured Guilin and Yangshuo besides other major China destinations. Our hotels, guides, drivers and itineraries all more than met our expectations. We had lots of opportunities to add to or modify our itineraries, which we did. Whatever any changes were made, our guides and drivers helped us with transport and purchasing of entries. The hotels were superb, as were the meals. I highly recommend using Top China Travel to anyone wishing an excellent visit to China.

My wife and I booked a private tour with Top China Travel for 6 days , From the outset the help we got from TCT was first class and Joyce our representative in China answered all our questions and tailored the tour accordingly . On arrival at Beijing airport the guide Venus and driver Mr Howe were there to meet us and take us to our very comfortable hotel which TCT had arranged. The second day we visited the Great Wall which was fantastic. Neil the guide for this trip was knowledgeable and very informative and later in the day we wandered around the beautiful Summer Palace at leisure. The Forbidden City with Venus our lovely guide was incredible as was meeting local people in the Hutong and market. A trip to Xi An to see the Terracotta Warriers taking the bullet train from Beijing was incredible travelling at 306 kilometres an hour. Comfortable and spotless taking just 4hr 20min to cover 1,200 Kms . Again when we arrived in Xi An station our guide Vincy and the driver Mr Toa were there to meet us and take us to our hotel. The next morning our car driver and guide took us to the Buddhist Pagoda in Xi An the first to be built in China, Very Interesting and so peaceful. The terracotta warriors were incredible, a massive site with five pits. We cannot thank Top China Tours enough for helping us to have an experience of a life time and we recommend them unreservedly. The guides in Beijing, Datong, Xian, Guilin and Shanghai were all very friendly, helpfull and recieved us very well. Every one in the group were very pleased with the trip, they just loved the mixture of City, history, and country side. Next year we maybe would like to do a trip to Hunan, Yunnan or Chengdu. Thanks for every thing, and a special thanks for Janet.

In september 2016 we (2 couples from Finland) started to plan for a real encounter with Asia. Quite soon the project grew and we decided to ask for help. Top China Travel made it easy for us in China. We gave rough guidelines and Janet made a proposal based on that. After some iteration (we did not want everything) we ended up in a plan. The plan was good, if not excellent, and the price within our budget. Deal! In april we spent three incredible weeks in China. Now we are back home and have digested the whole thing. We are very happy. Janet and her guides made it so easy for us and everything worked perfect. This is incredble, because we traveled around a lot. By train, car, air...tickets, time schedules, hotels...perfect! Thank you. In really recommend. John

This is not a review of the Guilin Day Tour, but of the transportation services TCT was able to arrange for me in the remote Sichuan Province for HuangLong Scenic Area and Jiuzhaigou Valley. I didn't have a need for a tour service, but I wanted to make arrangements for transportation in this remote area because I was travelling solo and wanted to make the most of my time. TCT was able to arrange transport for me from HuangLong JiuZhai Airport (JZH) to HuangLong; the driver waited for me while I hiked in the HuangLong Scenic Area (3-4 hours) and then transported me to my hotel in Jiuzhaigou. As arranged, a driver to met me at the airport with my name on a sign and then drove me to HuangLong, waited and then drove me to Jiuzhaigou. I was able to pay in advance with Paypal. This area has lots of mountains, valleys, small villages, and not a lot of public transportation. What a fantastic service! My hotel in Jiuzhaigou was not set up to make these kinds of transportation arrangements. I can't say enough about how professional this organization is. All of my questions via email were answered quickly. I had complete confidence in Maggie Qin, the Sales Representative that made all the arrangements. She included her phone number in our correspondence in case I need to get in touch with her in China. This came in very handy because my Chinese is limited and the driver's English was even more limited. He was able to call Maggie and confirm exactly the agenda for the day. Really, I am blown away by the customer service at TCT.

My wife (34) and I (35) took a 13-day trip to China during the last two weeks of May organized by Top China Travel. Our tour organizer was Janet Chan with whom we had a very excellent experience. The arrangements were flawless. We did not join a group, all the arrangements were made only for the two of us. We had a guide, a driver and a sedan car in each city. All the internal flights, cruise and train tickets, and any other ground transportation was arranged by TCT. We visited Beijing, Xian, Guilin-Yangshuo, Chongxing-Yangtze River Cruise, and Shanghai. I won't talk too much about the cities since there is plenty of information in the internet. I just can tell that China is amazing. My top favorite sites/monuments/attractions were: The Great Wall (Mutianyu section), Terracotta Warriors, bicycle ride in Yangshuo, bicycle ride in Xian City Wall, cooking lesson in Yangshuo, shopping at Tianzifang and Old Town market in Shanghai and the food EVERYWHERE. The hotel selection by TCT was good, however, depending on needs and tastes, I would recommend to discuss and agree with TCT on specific hotels after doing a little research. Reasons: breakfast selection might not be suitable for everybody (chinese breakfast is very different from occidental breakfast), some hotels might not enforce non-smoking policies hard enough (Novotel Peace in Beijing for example). The Yangtze River cruise was a really nice experience, the landscapes are unique. It's something worth seeing. We took the President #8 Ship, the rooms are clean and comfortable, however, the entertainment activities on board are limited. Overall experience in China was excellent and I definitely recommend Top China Travel as the agency of choice.
