We've been in China this August from 4th to 20th, starting from Beijing and finish in Shanghai, with many transfers through the "tailor made"trip (we've been in Chengde, Pingyao, Xian, Chengdu, Huangshan...). We're very found in Chinese culture and food, so we asked to the travel agency a "not so touristic" tour. We found everything we were looking for! Janet, our correspondent, made everything work wonderfully, with patience and aknowledgement. We really suggest this agency if you want a really Chinese experience with the best quality and price!

Our family of four just completed a 8 day tour with TCT. Janet helped organize a fantastic itinerary that was flexible and accommodating for our 75 year old mother. We loved the cable car up to the Great wall and Xi'an City wall. Yuyuan Gardens, the trip up the Pearl Tower and all the temples were breathtaking sites. The Capital Hotel in Beijing and Ramada Hotel in Xi'an were very good and the breakfasts diverse and tasty. Every lunch was an taste adventure and we loved the Beijing peking Duck dinner. The guides were very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our guide, Summer, in Xi'an very much. Thank you for an extremely enjoyable and memorable tour! Outstanding!!!

We (party of 4) have only positive reviews for our recent Beijing tour (sept 28 to oct 2, 2017) with Top China Travel. We read other travellers' review before choosing top china travel and they were accurate as our trip was seamless, no hiccups and Linda our english tour guide made sure we got to see as much as we could in those 5 days. Linda met us at the airport without a glitch and took us to Howard Johnson paragon, checked us in and made sure we got everything we needed for the evening. The next day Linda arrived promptly at the hotel to start our tour. Linda made sure we understood when she was explaining the history of all the sites. She knows a lot of historical information, quoting dates and names of emperors, etc. For our lunches she made sure she ordered the spicy food we enjoyed tremendously. When we were leaving Linda came inside the airport to make sure we went to the right counter to check in. Our hats off to the driver Mr. Zhao who was always on time in picking us up at all locations, despite the heavy traffic and some impatient drivers on the road. We had a very positive experience with Top china travel and highly recommend them to all travelers..

My wife and I booked a private tour with Top China Travel for 6 days , From the outset the help we got from TCT was first class and Joyce our representative in China answered all our questions and tailored the tour accordingly . On arrival at Beijing airport the guide Venus and driver Mr Howe were there to meet us and take us to our very comfortable hotel which TCT had arranged. The second day we visited the Great Wall which was fantastic. Neil the guide for this trip was knowledgeable and very informative and later in the day we wandered around the beautiful Summer Palace at leisure. The Forbidden City with Venus our lovely guide was incredible as was meeting local people in the Hutong and market. A trip to Xi An to see the Terracotta Warriers taking the bullet train from Beijing was incredible travelling at 306 kilometres an hour. Comfortable and spotless taking just 4hr 20min to cover 1,200 Kms . Again when we arrived in Xi An station our guide Vincy and the driver Mr Toa were there to meet us and take us to our hotel. The next morning our car driver and guide took us to the Buddhist Pagoda in Xi An the first to be built in China, Very Interesting and so peaceful. The terracotta warriors were incredible, a massive site with five pits. We cannot thank Top China Tours enough for helping us to have an experience of a life time and we recommend them unreservedly. Janet Chan of TCT organized a fantastic trip that started at the Dongxi border crossing with Vietnam into Nanning, the Chenyang Bridge with the Dong minority people. Then we went on to the Longji Rice Terraces with the Ping An Zhuang minority. Overall these first few days were fantastic from both a tour and educational perspective. Following these stops, we went to Yangshuo, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. All the travel went flawlessly and the accommodations were great!

The best part of our time in Guangxi province was the excellent guide- Wendy! If you ever have a chance to request a guide- please ask for Wendy! Guides make a big difference in how you learn and appreciate the travel. I have a LOT of experience with different guides- I lead study abroad trips every year. Wendy is informative, energetic, great with the students, flexible, and a joy to work with. We were able to request Wendy as our guide, whom we had two years before on our previous study abroad trip.

Overall, our experience with TCT, Janet Chan, and Wendy Zhang was exemplary.

I wasn’t told about pick up time until very late the night before (and I had to contact them about it). They did upgrade us from a group tour to a private one though, which was nice. Our driver and guide were the same person. He picked us up from our hotel in the morning and drove us to the place where we boarded the cruise. He got our tickets for us and told us he’d be waiting for us when the ship docked at Yangshuo. The cruise itself was very nice. It was 4 hours and included a boxed lunch (the food was actually pretty good). The views were great and it was nice to be able to alternate between being outside on the deck and inside. The only bad thing about the cruise is that all the announcements about what we were passing were all in Chinese. When we docked, we met our guide and he took us to West St (really cool), Ten-Mile Gallery, and we went bamboo rafting on Yulong River (this was awesome and I highly recommend this)! At the end of the day, he dropped us off at Chongshan at our request (we had asked him for a recommendation for a place with good Guilin rice noodles and apparently Chongshan is known for that). We liked that our guide/driver took great photos for us throughout the day. However, we were disappointed that we felt a bit rushed. We also felt that he was trying to sell us side trips, which bothered us a little. Also, when we were driving back to Guilin someone hit the car from behind (it wasn’t our driver’s fault) and I hit my head pretty hard yet he didn’t ask us if we were okay.

Had a wonderful time in those places. The guides were all friendly and accommodating. They can all speak good English and made suggestions on what to eat, what and where to buy for local products. They even helped us order food in the restaurants because most people in the Gansu and Xinjiang provinces do not speak and cannot understand English. Special thanks to our guide (Jerry) and our driver in Beijing who acceded to our request to drop by a small cherry farm to pick and buy cherries on the way back to Beijing from Mutianyo Great Wall. Special thanks too to Kevin Ma, our guide in Xinjiang for a detour to a grape vineyard for a photo op as well as to his treat of the most delicious melon in Turpan. The places we have visited - Zhangye Danxia Lanform, Mingsha Shan Sand Dunes and Crescent Moon Lake in Dunhuang, Tainchi/Heavenly Lake in Urumqi, and all the other places in our itinerary are beyond amazing. It's quite a surprise that China has all these magnificent places. Shoutout to Yocky, the beautiful tour operator who patiently arranged all the tours for us and made this trip as pleasant as possible...thank you! Hats off to Top China Travel!!! Will definitely avail of their services in our future China trip.

In April and May, 2017, my wife and I went to China. We booked our trip online from Australia. The girl we dealt with was called Rebecca. She was absolutely fantastic. We changed our minds, about our destinations, many times, in the planning process but Rebecca was always there to give us advice and make suggestions. At one stage, we hadn't heard from her, for about two days. She apologised for the delay because she got married!
We went to Shanghai, Guilin,Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Chengdu, Lhasa, Xian and Wuhan. We had the good fortune to meet Rebecca when we were in Guilin. It was great to meet the person, who had made our trip so absolutely successful.
We found out about Top China Travel, via Trip Adviser. We can only say, from our experience, if you are going to China, book through them and ask for Rebecca. Rebecca was a pleasure to deal with and she is an absolute asset to this company.

We recently did a 14 day tour of China organised by Top China Travel. The trip was organised at the last minute as a result of a previous tour with another company being cancelled. There were four of us, all over 65, who travelled together. We were extremely impressed with the tour. It was well organised, well presented and communication was very effective throughout. Much of the tour’s success can be attributed to the enthusiasm, professionalism and good communication of Rebecca Wei our contact at Top China Travel. Rebecca’s knowledge of travel options and matching our needs to the arrangements was extremely valuable. Our tour involved Beijing-Xi'an-Guilin-Chongqing-Yangtze River Cruise-Yichang-Shanghai. Our tour guide for 4 days in Beijing was Quee Na, ably supported by our driver Mr I. They both went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, exciting and educational. We really appreciated their smiling welcoming faces and safe, punctual and flexible tours. Quee Na’s knowledge of the Beijing area was outstanding providing us with plenty of great advice for eating places, shopping etc. The visits to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall and the Summer Palace were all highlights. At the Great Wall we travelled up the hill on the chairlift walked 4 towers up and back and then 2 of us took the toboggan down- great fun at our age. We stayed at the Sunworld Hotel Beijing which is in a great location close Tiananmen Square and Shopping and clean comfortable rooms. Quee Na’s insight into the local area was very helpful. We travelled to Xian by fast train, averaging approx. 295 kms per hour. Very comfortable and smooth ride. On the train it is difficult to get your luggage close to you if you have large cases but Quee Na was able to find us a safe place to store. We stayed at Grand Noble Hotel Xi'an, once again well located and clean and comfortable. We did all the usual tourist things in Xian but one of the highlights was doing tai chi on the City Wall with a professional Tai Chi Master. We then travelled to Guilin by plane. Our tour guide in Guilin was Ann, who is outstanding. She has incredible energy levels, great knowledge of the local area and China as a whole and was great at tailoring activities to our needs. She was ably supported by our driver Mr Wong. We really enjoyed Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area (Dragon's Back), including a cable car ride. These terraces are built into the hillsides. We also went Li River Cruise (about 4 hours from Guilin to Yangshuo. Impressive scenery while cruising down the meandering river to Yangshuo. We stayed in Yangshuo for dinner to enable us to see The Show of Impression Liusanjie. This was organised by Ann and is highly recommended as an optional activity in Yangshuo. We stayed at Lijiang Waterfall Hotel. Once again a great location and providing 5 star rooms and service. While in Guilin we had an opportunity to meet Rebecca Wei who is based there who made us feel very welcome and double-checked to make sure all our needs were being met. We then travelled by fast train from Guilin to Chongqing. Ann made sure we were well organised and punctual for the train and sent us off with a huge smile. The Yangtze River cruise boat departs from Chongqing. We were on the President No.7 ship which holds up to 500 passengers; approximately 80% were Chinese with the rest quite a mix from around the world. The River Cruises in China are a little different to Europe, pithed more at economy class but the ship was clean, service was good, food was fine and the scenery through the 3 gorges awesome. We didn’t do the optional tours as we needed a couple of hours free to rest up after such a hectic time to date. The three gorges dam tour at the end was extremely interesting We flew from Yichang to Shanghai. Our base was the Sunrise on the Bund hotel. Probably the best hotel overall on the tour. Our guide in Shanghai was Leo. He is energetic, passionate and we all quickly became friends. Our driver was Mr Wong who beyond expectations to ensure our travels were safe and enjoyable, including making sure we got to the airport in plenty of time for our flight. Overall a great trip, very good value for money and we would have no hesitation in recommending Top China Travel to anybody considering a China Tour.
