I can't recommend this company enough!! I started talking to Yocky via the chat system on their website, as we wanted to do a 2.5 week trip around China. Our itinerary was: Shenzhen-Beijing-Xian-Kunming-Dongchuan-Chengdu-Guilin-Sanya Here's how things went: 1) She was instant in her replies and responded to subsequent emails within the hour (and trust me, I sent A LOT of emails). She was always so thorough and efficient. 2) She made us a tailor made trip that covered everything we wanted, including some slightly more off the beaten track attractions. 3) She helped us keep to our budget and suggested reasonable things we could cut out when things were too expensive (not something many companies would do as they are trying to make a quick buck). 4) She listened to all of our requests for things such as early morning flights, vegetarian food, and readjusting itineraries. 5) All our drivers and guides were EXCELLENT; they were prompt, kind, spoke excellent English and had a wealth of knowledge about all the sites we saw. All the cars on our private tours were nice and comfortable and had water. 6) Despite asking for 3* hotels, all 7 hotels we stayed in seemed like 4* to us and all included breakfast. 7) With such a large and complicated trip there were bound to be a few hiccups (e.g. there was a marathon in Xian one day which meant a lot of roads were closed, so we couldn't access sites). Yocky was in touch with us the entire time and helped us rearrange our plans quickly and ordered complimentary tickets to a show to make up for the inconvenience. We were so nervous about our first trip to China as we speak no mandarin and are strict vegetarian but honestly this was one of the best trips of our life; this company made it so easy for us and I really can't imagine having been able to do it myself any better!

My husband and I booked a two week private tour of China with Top China Travel. It was an excellent experience. Vicky, a tour consultant, offered us a very good program visiting Beijing, Xian, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai and Nanjing. We really enjoyed every location. The tour guides were knowledgeable and helpful. In Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing me made our own hotel reservation and in Xian an Zhangjiajie TCT made the reservations for us. Lunch was included in the tour and the selection of the restaurants was excellent in most locations (except Xian). Overall great tour!

Tour developer Yocky and tour guide Leo did a great job introducing me to these 2 cities. I loved the Acrobatic Show and also the night boat ride on the Huangpu. The skyline of Shanghai is a riot of color and movement at night! And the gardens! Leo's English was very clear and easy to understand. I also appreciated his willingness to "open up" and tell me a little bit about his family, his life, his history, his routine. I would recommend a private tour with a guide and driver and if you're in Shanghai ask for Leo to be your guide!

I highly recommend Top China Travel (TCT) in particular Janet Chan for her excellent professional services in organising our recent tour in China. My wife and I did not want a group tour because we wanted greater flexibility so Janet put together a tour that took in all the major sight seeing cities. It was very well organised, the accommodation was great e.g. excellent locations, English speaking and delicious buffet breakfasts and close to all the major sights that will leave us with lasting memories. Her choice of guides was very good, they also spoke excellent English and had good personalities and were all very knowledgeable, the drivers were also very good and drove safely. In summary we believe that TCT provided a quality value added service and would recommend TCT to anyone looking for a reliable Chinese agency for organising their travels. We recently returned from a 16 day tour of China. Our holiday was organised by Rebecca Wei who was a pleasure to deal with. We arrived in Beijing and departed from Shanghai. There was lots to organise as we had two internal flights and three train journeys as well as three nights on a boat cruising the Yangtze river. All the arrangments fell into place like clockwork, our guides were excellent, spoke very good english and had a good knowledge of the places we visited. We saw some fantastic sights but some of the highlights for us were The Great Wall, The Yungang Grottoes, The Hanging Temple Datong, The terrracotta warriors and the muslim quarter in Xiang and the cruise on the Yangtze. We travelled in September so the temperatures were around 28C [ fine for us as we live in Durban] it is also a good time as the lines to get enterance to some places were very short. There was a lot of walking involved so comfortable walking shoes are a must as well as a sun hat. We stayed in a couple of "traditional" hotels which we loved and then some very upmarket hotels. The exception was the hotel in Xiang which scored 100% on location but had some very unfriendly staff a poor restaurant as well as putting us in an unrenovated room for the first night. We moved to the renovated floors for the other night which was much better. I should add here that this was a mistake by the hotel not TCT] My one regret is that we should have stayed a night in Wuzhen Water Town but that really was not practical as we had to leave our hotel in Shanghai at 4 in the morning to catch the flight home. We have some wondefull memories so thank you Rebecca and TCT for organizing a really interesting holiday Andrew and Anne B, DurbanSouth Africa

We still can't believe that we've spent 11 days of dream in China, organized for us by TCT Guilin. The pick ups at the different airports went without a hitch. our guides were warm and so friendly, although a few were quite busy with their IPhone. The hotels recommended were outstanding. The breakfast at The Marriott were excellent. The terra cotta army in Xian is a marvel. The dumpling banquet in Xian was somewhat below our expectations though. The cruise on the Yang Tse river, a once in a lifetime experience though a bit too short. Don t hesitate to upgrade to the suite on the Victoria cruises (Victoria Selena), you won't regret it, a panoramic view of breath taking intensity....quite interesting shore excursions, they are worth the money. We would hesitate one second to book another and longer trip with TCT Guilin.

My mother and I recently visited China from 4 September 2017 to 18 September 2017. Our private tour with Top China Travel (TCT) started in Beijing and ended in Shanghai. Along the way we visited Xian, Guilin and did a 3 day cruise down the Yangtze river. We were very very impressed with the services provided by TCT. The guides and drivers who met us in every city where enthusiastic, friendly, helpful and entertaining. They continuously strived to do their utmost best to accommodate us and make our experience a pleasant one. Having the guides definately made our trip a relaxing one especially with the language barrier. Our trip planner from TCT, Bonnie even met up with us in Guilin to meet us and give us gifts which was really something special. TCT made sure we experienced all the best and most amazing sites of China, both old and new! The tour was attentive and personal and I would definitely recommend it as a MUST to anybody travelling to China!!! Thank you to our tour Guides Linda, Lucy, Michelle, Cherry, Victor, Jakob and our tour planner Bonnie for the most wonderful visit. China is an exquisite and vibrant country which will definitely see me again!

I just returned for a wonderful China tour. I booked through TCT and Tracy was fantastic. My entire trip was amazing, I went to four cities, Shanghai, Xian, Chengdu and Beijing. I had the private tours with private guides which I highly recommend. My guides, Chris, Lily, Fen and Neil were fantastic. Neil in Beijing was absolutely amazing! I am already thinking about a trip back.

We only had a few days to get a taste of China and we couldn't be happier. We visited Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. In each city our guide had exceptional local knowledge. Our tour was not set in stone with the guides flexible to suit the needs of the group. We not only saw the sites but gained in depth knowledge about them. The drivers were amazing, negotiating the hectic traffic conditions we felt very safe in their care. The guides take a personal interest in their group and look after their every need. I booked the trip over the net and had fantastic communication from start to finish. TCT is great!

My 3 friends and I did a 11 days Beijing, Xian, Shanghai & Chengdu tour. Our tour agent was Joyce at TCT. From day 1 till the very last day everything went very smooth. All was organised very well, we had excellent tour guides, drivers, comfortable vans, they were very pleasant, helpful and flexible. The rooms in Xian and Shanghai were beautiful. I really got to see & experience a lot, got to taste delicious local food, bought nice silk stuff (haven't used it yet). Overall it was a great trip. Thanks to Joyce, Kurt, Helen, Presence and all the drivers for a wonderful, memorable trip.I would highly recommend TCT tours and definitely coordination through Joyce.

We went on an 11 day Private tour organised by TCT to Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Cruise on Li River and Shanghai. Everything was so perfectly and professionally organized by Bonnie. Prior to the commencement of the holiday she was so helpful and responded very promptly to all our questions and requests. The tour was perfectly tailored to our taste and we have seen and experienced more than what we expected. The Guides were very knowledgeable, especially Christina in regards to her proficiency in English and the knowledge (Sabrina – Beijing, Christina – Xian, Jay Guilin and Alice Shanghai). They were very helpful and went out of their way to help us and make us happy. At times communication became somewhat challenging though, it did not significantly affect us. They recommended very pleasing, fantastic and one of a kind shows that left memorable impressions on us. We highly recommend TCT to anyone who is planning to have a tour in China. Thank you Bonnie and the team for the wonderful and memorable holiday. Gamini & Wijitha

We recently did a 14 day tour of China organised by Top China Travel. The trip was organised at the last minute as a result of a previous tour with another company being cancelled. There were four of us, all over 65, who travelled together. We were extremely impressed with the tour. It was well organised, well presented and communication was very effective throughout. Much of the tour’s success can be attributed to the enthusiasm, professionalism and good communication of Rebecca Wei our contact at Top China Travel. Rebecca’s knowledge of travel options and matching our needs to the arrangements was extremely valuable. Our tour involved Beijing-Xi'an-Guilin-Chongqing-Yangtze River Cruise-Yichang-Shanghai. Our tour guide for 4 days in Beijing was Quee Na, ably supported by our driver Mr I. They both went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, exciting and educational. We really appreciated their smiling welcoming faces and safe, punctual and flexible tours. Quee Na’s knowledge of the Beijing area was outstanding providing us with plenty of great advice for eating places, shopping etc. The visits to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall and the Summer Palace were all highlights. At the Great Wall we travelled up the hill on the chairlift walked 4 towers up and back and then 2 of us took the toboggan down- great fun at our age. We stayed at the Sunworld Hotel Beijing which is in a great location close Tiananmen Square and Shopping and clean comfortable rooms. Quee Na’s insight into the local area was very helpful. We travelled to Xian by fast train, averaging approx. 295 kms per hour. Very comfortable and smooth ride. On the train it is difficult to get your luggage close to you if you have large cases but Quee Na was able to find us a safe place to store. We stayed at Grand Noble Hotel Xi'an, once again well located and clean and comfortable. We did all the usual tourist things in Xian but one of the highlights was doing tai chi on the City Wall with a professional Tai Chi Master. We then travelled to Guilin by plane. Our tour guide in Guilin was Ann, who is outstanding. She has incredible energy levels, great knowledge of the local area and China as a whole and was great at tailoring activities to our needs. She was ably supported by our driver Mr Wong. We really enjoyed Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area (Dragon's Back), including a cable car ride. These terraces are built into the hillsides. We also went Li River Cruise (about 4 hours from Guilin to Yangshuo. Impressive scenery while cruising down the meandering river to Yangshuo. We stayed in Yangshuo for dinner to enable us to see The Show of Impression Liusanjie. This was organised by Ann and is highly recommended as an optional activity in Yangshuo. We stayed at Lijiang Waterfall Hotel. Once again a great location and providing 5 star rooms and service. While in Guilin we had an opportunity to meet Rebecca Wei who is based there who made us feel very welcome and double-checked to make sure all our needs were being met. We then travelled by fast train from Guilin to Chongqing. Ann made sure we were well organised and punctual for the train and sent us off with a huge smile. The Yangtze River cruise boat departs from Chongqing. We were on the President No.7 ship which holds up to 500 passengers; approximately 80% were Chinese with the rest quite a mix from around the world. The River Cruises in China are a little different to Europe, pithed more at economy class but the ship was clean, service was good, food was fine and the scenery through the 3 gorges awesome. We didn’t do the optional tours as we needed a couple of hours free to rest up after such a hectic time to date. The three gorges dam tour at the end was extremely interesting We flew from Yichang to Shanghai. Our base was the Sunrise on the Bund hotel. Probably the best hotel overall on the tour. Our guide in Shanghai was Leo. He is energetic, passionate and we all quickly became friends. Our driver was Mr Wong who beyond expectations to ensure our travels were safe and enjoyable, including making sure we got to the airport in plenty of time for our flight. Overall a great trip, very good value for money and we would have no hesitation in recommending Top China Travel to anybody considering a China Tour.

Our 14-day tour went great. Our online agent, Yocky, was very responsive to all the questions I had before the trip. We were met and sent off at each airport, railroad, and bus ride by local tour guides of TCT who were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and professionals. Thorough in explaining each of the places we visited and gladly took our questions and responded. The hotels we were checked-in were 4 stars as expected, clean and centrally located, clean, and served a great buffet breakfast (included). The respective tour guides effectively managed the time and arranged lunch stops close by the sites we visited thus not wasting touring time. Overall experience was great. Great value for the price of the tour. If we decide to tour other sites in China in the future I will definitely use TCT again.
