Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport

Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport is a civilian airport located in southwest of Jinghong City in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, Banna Airport for short, also known as Jinghong airport. Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport is the "civilized Airport” at southwest China, and is also the second international airport in Yunnan Province. Put into service in 1990, it belongs to the Chinese national ports. Banna airport has experienced three times’ expansion, and the current level of airport flight zone is 4D, with 2400 meter long runway available for the Boeing 767, Airbus 330 and the smaller models landing.

 

Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport’s construction work began on December 1, 1987, and on October 1, 1989, the Civil Aviation established Xishuangbanna Airport, and it was put into service in 1990, under the China Civil Aviation (Civil Aviation Administration of Yunnan Province) Yunnan Airlines. On February 13, 1990, SWCAAC approved Yunnan Bureau opened routes from Kunming to Xishuangbanna, and on April 7, 1990, it was officially opened to traffic.
