Subway Routes in Wuxi

Subway routes in Wuxi city was put into used in 2014. It offers much convenient for the local or tourists to travel around the city. Now, only Line 1 and Line 2 is completed and operated.

Wuxi (Chinese: 无锡) is an old city located in southern Jiangsu province, People's Republic of China. It borders Suzhou to the east and Changzhou to the west and is split in half by Lake Tai. It has developed to a modern city gradually and enjoys convenient transport.

The Wuxi government has planned a network of 8 metro lines. Line 1 and line 2 of the Wuxi Metro began operation on July 1st and December 28th in 2014 respectively. The rest are under construction. Now please find the details of the two metro lines as follow.

Line 1

Metro Line 1 has a length of over 29 kilometers (18 mi). It runs from north to south with 24 stations along the rail. Most of the route is underground, including 19 stations, and there are only 5 stations and 7 kilometers (4.3 mi) running on an elevated alignment. It charges from CNY 2 for 5 kilometers and the whole-way ride will not over CNY 6.

Line 2

Line 2 has a length of over 26.6 kilometers (16.5 mi). It runs from east to west with 22 stations (including one transfer station with Line 1). Except for 6.6 kilometers (4.1 mi) of elevated alignment, most of the route is underground.

Other subway lines are still under constructions. Taking subway to travel around Wuxi would be a fast and cheap way.
